Hi.

I had extra points and I booked my room at OKW a day earlier than my actual arrival date so the room would be ready
when we arrive on January 1.

When would be the best time to call MS? Once I receive my room number or prior? I was thinking once I receive my room would
be best but figured there are some on here that have done this in the past.

Thank you.

I'd call now and ask MS to put a note on the reservation about the late arrival. Not sure the resort would see a note put on after arrival (or even after bookings go to the resort).

Instead of calling you could try Chat or even email, but I agree with Carol - do it now.

Thank you all very much. I will call this week and get it doen.

clm, I use to think the same as you but I thought I remembered on here that somehow if you haven't gone to your room or something, they think you are a no show. Not sure I have that correct or made it up in my mind LOL but that is why I asked.

Thanks so much!

I just do online checkin and use the dropdown to tell them what time you're getting in.

It's what people worry about, but doing online checkin and telling them your arrival time lets them know you'll be there.

Thank you. Have you done this before by arriving a day later than your reservation?

Why do you need to call? Just do online check in in advance. Nobody cares what time you actually enter your room. If I remember correctly, there is a spot to indicate your arrival time.

The rules say that you should notify them if you don't actually plan to arrive on the check in day. In 2020, I had a reservation canceled when renters didn't access the room after two days. It just seems like something I would not chance when a simple call...okay, that may not be simple right now with wait times...chat, or email can be done!

Online check in does not prevent them from determining you are a no show. Accessing the room does. Now, there have been reports where people showed up day 2 with no issue.

OP, you are lucky to have the points to book the extra nights! I would chat and let them know what you did! I had done the same thing in 2020, eventually it was cancelled, but I did inform them that I would be arriving the next day.

I would also take screenshots of your online checkin stating your arrival time/date as well as any chat transcripts. Just in case you get there and the cast member says you didn't alert Disney you can show them you did.

I did this by email for 12/22 (we’ll be on the auto train arriving 12/23) a few months ago then sent a reminder email today. They responded within an hour that they will make a note for the front desk and I printed that out should there be any issues at check in.

Thank you for this information. Can you please let me (us) know what email you used to get your responses?

Thank you very much. I shall do both LOL

I will call and/or email and make sure they are aware. Thank you.

Great idea. I will do that.

Sure just the regular “email us” link on the member site under contact us. Chose “current reservations” from the drop down.

This is such a tempting idea to use when I arrive on a red-eye flight at 6:00am, but I’d probably just go to the parks anyway.
