Hi Everyone,

Just booked a trip for January 15th-23rd, 2022. Air and resort (Wilderness Lodge) are booked. Park reservations are booked. What else do I need to do, or can I do, at this point? When I can start making dining reservations? What else am I forgetting? I know there's no FP or ME... Anything else? Do we need magic bands, or are those going to be replaced with something else by January?? I don't want to buy them if we don't need them.

Thanks!

-Robyn

Park pass reservations are about it for now, other than putting together a loose itinerary and figuring out which restaurants you may want to check out during your visit.

ADRs can be booked at 60 days from check-in date.

Magic bands are mostly phased out with mobile phones, though I believe the bands will still be usable next year. Personally, I prefer the bands to the phone so I don't have to pull it out all the time. I haven't used phone much other than getting into the room.

Other than that, it's all about counting down! Lol.

Not a whole lot you can do right now, aside from reading/researching. That's typically my favorite part of the waiting phase, but right now it kinda stinks because everything is changing so quickly that it will all be different by the time our next trip rolls around anyway.

Fortunately, things are now changing in a good way. Hopefully way more entertainment options are open soon and the experience is more enjoyable

We arrive when you are leaving. Yup that is about it for now. I am researching dining. It is more effort since I am looking at what they were like pre-lockdown and how it is now, also what we might want if I can get dining plan during part of the trip (split stay) For example, if Fantasmic is back and there is dining plans, we'll want the H&V Fantasmic package.

At this point, just enjoy binge watching You Tube :). Dining reviews, park day vlogs, etc. Make notes of things you might want to do.

I personally like magic bands so I'll be using them over my phone. My phone never lasts the whole day so I'm not even going to try.

Otherwise I'd start planning what things you want to do that way when you can start booking you are ready. We are going in Feb 2022 and we are crossing our fingers hoping fast passes will be back so we are planning which of those we want and what not knowing that they may not be available.

We are going March 2022. I'm trying to busy myself with food musings, knowing all the restaurants will probably have different offerings by next year. We are going with my brother-in-law's family and my mother-in-law. And while I really really really want to plan something, I know they'll 1) think I'm crazy for planning this early and 2) get annoyed if I pester them with questions for the next 9 months. They are not planners. Their daughter is much younger than my kids and not adventurous (eating or rides). They are not rope droppers. Basically we're vacationing with our polar opposites! :scared: So I'm trying to gather info to present to them in an organized manner, but generally I'm just trying to hold in my crazy.

Waiting stinks.

Remember the general advice for bug groups. Do things in small groups that want to do similar things and meet up for things you want to do together, usually meals.

So, your family rope drops, etc. then meet up with them for a meal. I suspect your daughter will chatter about the cool things done that day, and they'll compare to what they did that day and be converted - or not.
