Just got off the phone with a CM. Booked for the wolly polly rip off (kidding, ofcourse!) that is known as the Polynesian (Garden View) :p. Stayin for 3 nights (12/10-13) using the code EWO. This trip is going to be much more special than any other one because I shall be askin for my lovely lady's (below) hand in marriage. Unfortunately, my plans to do it on Friday night during the fireworks at the Cali Grill won't happen since they don't have the exact time when the fireworks are going to be on (because of Mickey's Xmas Party) sooo I have to hold out til Saturday night.

Wish me luck so that I don't break down in anxiety! :)

Any ideas of what I can do to make this more special?

thanks a bunch!

Umm, I don't have any ideas, I just wanted to say, "Wow! What a great proposal!":Pinkbounc

Set up a spa day for her. DH and I got a couples massage and it was fabulous!

I hope she doesn't read these boards or it won't be a surprise.;)

Last year Wishes was held at 9:15 during MVMCP. No they can't be certain, but it's very likely it will be at the same time this year.

I suggest contacting the GF resort spa to set up couples massage. My DH had a massage by himself there last Christmas we were there and loved it so much he goes back everytime we go. Good Luck and Congrats!:mickeybar

I've been doing some reading on the Spa Treatment and I'm interested in the couples packages they have. Though I'm curious what the prices are for these, I can't find any information on our lovely interweb. Is there any information online or do I have to call the Spa directly? Also, do I have to book way ahead of time? Is it possible to book once we check in for the next couple of days?

As for the fireworks on friday, I'm thinking I might just take the chance and book the reservation for friday night at around 8:30 and hope for the best. That is still up in the air...

thanks everyone!

Hi,

Have a great trip! Good luck & congrats!!!!

I don't have any advice, but I just wanted to saw 'awwwwwww!". I wish my husband had proposed to be at Disney World. Of course anything would have been better than 'So, I don't know, maybe we should just get married or something.' :hyper: Good luck!

:D When you call to make your PS at Calif. Grill let them know that is is a special dinner because you are proposing and ask for a seat by the window to see Wishes.

when i called to make the reservation they said there isnt anything they could do...I even called the wdw dine line to ask if I can put in a special request for the table...they said I have to wait til I get to cali grill to check in. Im thinking once I check in the Poly I'll speak to a CM and see if they can either call cali grill themselves or give me the number so that I can speak to someone...

thanks for the link to the spa...you guys are just awesome.

Congratulations! This is just an idea but the all of the chefs that I know LOVE to be part of something so special! Maybe you could call Cali Grill in advance and let the chef know what a special night you want it to be. Chances are He'd have some great ideas! Maybe they could write "Will you Marry Me?" on her dessert (or dessert plate) or something...just ask. We've had this a few times in our restaurant and our whole staff gets excited....

(And then as a token of your appreciation buy the chef a drink or something...)

Also tell people at the Poly what you're up to...you never know, maybe you'll come back to something special in your room?! (Or have them set up champagne for when you get back?!) :)

Congrats!!!

wheeee...I already have something planned for the lady...with a little help from my friends...

probably going to do it Friday night with a more intimate setting (poly beach/fireworks/bottle of champagne) and then just celebrate the next night at the cali grill.

...and to give this even more of a twist...my parents are celebrating their 33rd anniversary that same weekend...my brothers and I decided to book them a room as well. Most likely at the Dolphin (they're fans of Epcot)

once again...wheeeeeeeee

The fireworks would be nice, but I would reconsider. We just ate dinner at Victoria and Alberts for our honeymoon and it was AMAZING!!!! They would do ANYTHING to make it more special. I would def look into it.

V&A was considered...and considered...and we considered it even more, but we decided to hold that off for another special occasion...trust me when I say we'll be back plenty of times! :)

Just wanted to say congratulations!!! Have a wonderful trip and let us know how it went when you come back!

:sunny:
