Finally took the plunge & booked for October:cheer2:

We need car hire for 10 days - Airline Network come in at £215 for a full size fully inclusive with platinum. Dollar UK site is more expensive & Dollar US site i'm not sure what insurance is included. (price was $351.10) Can anybody tell me? Does this seem like a good price?

Thanks

I have used www.usrentacar.co.uk and their prices seem good - just a word of warning, though - choose their highest insurance option which includes a tank of gas as we made the mistake last time of going for the lesser option and got charged $65 for gas :scared1: They did refund it in the end as we hadn't realised we were supposed to return the car with an empty tank and had filled it ourselves but I won't make that mistake again.

We always use either usrentacar.co.uk or uscarhire.co.uk - Either are great. You can even give uscarhire.co.uk your dollar express number and they will add it to the booking to save you 'getting in line' at MCO.

Always worth the extra 'Gold' level of insurance as the fuel prices have gone up in the US since the old days. Anything large will likely cost you $60-$70 to fill these days.

Lasy year we hired a car twice in San Francisco for 1 day each time with the 'Gold' option. Each time we returned the car empty and felt really good inside.

The fuel itself would have cost more than the rental did...... A cheeky one to do if you fancy it.

The US rate does not include the insurances normal for a UK hirer ie, CDW and SLI.
