I booked my cruise using points for Feb. 19. We are going with friends, they paid cash and got their documents last Wednesday. Should I be worried should I call MS tomorrow? Are they open, it's MLK day. What has been done in the past should I wait a couple of more days? Thanks

Not sure about the docs, as I have never cruised. But I can answer the MLK question.

When I booked the 1st half of my Dec 2004 ressie on Friday, Janey said that they would be closed on Monday, so I could finish booking my trip on Tuesday, Jan 20th.

HTH!

You should get your documents about 3-4 weeks out. We got ours about 2 weeks out on our cruise last May. I was a bit worried when we didn't have them at 3 weeks out and called MS. They kind of told me in a round about way that people using points sometimes get their documents a bit later than others. I have no idea why. They also told me that if they didn't arrive that they would take care of it at port. I wasn't too pleased with this because your luggage tags are in the documents and you usually drop off the luggage before checking in at the terminal. But they did arrive. The one thing that worried me the most is that we were leaving for WDW a week prior to the cruise. We are cruising again this May and leaving a week out for WDW again. I'll be doing the same and calling at 3 weeks if they haven't arrived by then.

We got our documents for our July cruise at about the same time as everyone else. Just be patient--they use slightly different means to send them to different individuals (depending on the package services that are readily available in your area, it seems). Ours came via UPS as I recall, and were here a few weeks before our cruise (I think it was close to a month out) but a few days after some other people got their's.

I am a travel agent and receiving documents is always a big question. Sometimes I receive them for my clients four weeks out. I have also received documents days before a cruise :( . Keep watching the mailbox and communicate with MS if you don't receive them. As noted earlier, cruise documents aren't like airline tickets. They can be replaced at the cruise terminal if necessary.

DCL states two weeks out as being their official time for passengers to receive documents. I have always received them 3 or 4 weeks prior however.

If you booked late though, and some people do, the documents may be arranged to be sent to your WDW Resort prior to the cruise, or at the Port as mentioned above.

Visit our Cruise Board here on the DIS if you would like more info on excursions, how to pack, etc. Bon Voyage!!

We got ours (booked on points) about 14 days. Unless it's changed from a year ago, they arrive FedEx and someone must be present to sign for them. This may have changed, so don't quote me on this!

Hey Roelongo!
Just wondering if you received your docs yet. We still don't ours yet...I almost plowed down the front door when I got home from work today (I saw the UPS man turning the corner on my way up the street)....but no docs  I have a feeling they will come exactly two weeks before. I just wish they would come already!!!!
