I just recently booked the buffet dinner at the Cape May Cafe at the Beach Club Resort. We will be staying at CBR in late August of this year (2010). My question is what is the easiest way of transportation to get to Cape May Cafe? I'm looking for any and all combinations. Can you take a boat from one of the parks or resorts? I'd like to see what options I have. It looks like that day we would either be coming from our resort (CBR) or Hollywood Studios. Most likely our resort though. Any information woulbe be appreciated considering we have never been to the Beach Club Resort.

Thanks for your time!

Outside of taking a cab, your next best option would be to take a bus to Hollywood Studios and catch the boat over to the Beach Club. I believe that the boat will stop at the Swan/Dolphin and then the Yacht Club/ Beach Club. Get off at the lighthouse, walk to the end of the dock and turn right. The beach club is the blueish building on the other side of the pirate ship. Have a great trip!

The times we have eaten at Cape May, we have also taken the boat from Hollywood Studios to the BC.

We ate ate Cape May last trip and went to Hollywood Studios to catch the boat. While we were waiting for the boat, it started POURING. Just a word of warning. We were allowed on the boat when it arrived but we had to stay tied to the dock for over 45 minutes waiting for a thunderstorm that was in the area to pass. You may want to have an alternate plan if you know of a thunderstorm in the area. I forget what the Captain said the radius was that the boats have to go by, but the thunder storm was not over us, just near us. We would have just walked to the restaurant from there, but again it was POURING!!

You can also take a boat (or walk) from the International Gateway in Epcot.

If you are not in DHS you can always catch a Beach Club bus from MK or any other park. Also, it does take forever to make the journey. Perhaps a $20 cab ride (just guessing on price) might be worth it. :confused3

The boat ride from DHS is very nice, but as a PP mentioned, have a back-up plan in case of a storm. The boats won't run then. In addition to a bus at MK, you could also take the bus to EPCOT and walk through the park to the International Gateway in the WS. The BC is just a 5 min. walk from the gate. Allow about an hour travel time if using Disney transportation.

This is what we did when we had reservations at yachtsman's and we were coming from POR. we took the bus about 90 minutes early, went to epcot, road TT and Spaceship earth, then walked through IG to get to the yacht club.

if you are at hollywood studios you could take the boat, or go along the walking path....the path is about 10-15 minutes depending on your walking speed.....we walked last time between epcot and hollywood studios as it was much faster than the boat.

Is it possible to plan your day around the meal? When my family makes a reservation at a restaurant that requires transfers, we make the process easier by working our itinerary accordingly. In your situation, we would be at either Epcot or Disney's Hollywood Studios in the hours before dinner and then use the available transportation.

Even if you are starting at your resort, the journey isn't too terrible. Cape May Cafe is a nice restaurant, so I suspect you will feel satisfied with your decision.

Nope, no car! Relying solely on Disney transportation.

I was just asking for myself, who will have a rental car.....can we drive to Cape May from DHS...or must you walk/boat/bus it? (never been there before).:confused3

Without hoppers there is another alternative to taking the boat from DHS
- you can take the bus to DTD, then get on a bus for the BC...

We won't have hoppers on our next trip and are planning on spending our first day at AK, then taking the bus to BC to enjoy the Clambake, and then hopping the boat to DHS to catch the bus back to AKV, but now that PP shared the rain experience we will plan to use the DTD buses as our alternate arrangement for transport both ways. :goodvibes

Thanks!!!:thumbsup2

I was going to ask how to get from POFQ to Cape May. I assume you go to a park and get on the Beach Club bus stop. Can you take the boat from POFQ to Cape May?

What if it is a breakfast ADR like we have before Epcot opens? Guess then it's the character breakfast buses from resort?

you cannot get there directly by boat from POFQ. Unless you take the boat to DTD, then catch a BC/YC boat to the hotel.
the POFQ boat is on the sassagoula river, connecting por, pofq, saratoga springs ( i think or is it old key west?) and dtd
the boat between dhs/ep/epcot resorts is on crestant lake
