Booked BWV Pool/Garden Studio for September 11-19, 2020 - But WL Question

Hi.

This September we wanted to stay in the BW area and I was able to book us September 11-18 today at the BW and will need to add one more day at the end tomorrow (Friday-Saturday stay so a day over a week). I could still book BLT LV now but we have stayed on the monorail resorts the last few years to thought we would go back to BW area.

I'm very happy I have what we want (I did walk the ressie at 7 months beginning September 1 since I really wanted that area, and knew I could be knocked out by an owner, but was successful) but I have a WL question. I have a WL for BW view at BW and a WL for BC.

I am thinking I should cancel out one of my reservations and try to get RIV. I'm thinking if I don't get it now, it will be MUCH harder in years to come
but not sure it will be worth it for me to loose my location? We have APs so we can go to Epcot for our dinners (or MGM for that matter) and I do want to RD MGM and Epcot but my only reason for wanting to try RIV is that there may be limited opportunity in the future to book a studio at 7 months (and I'm going in September and full week not available).

What would you do?

Also, have to say, this is the first year since owning since 2007 that when I looked I did not have my choice of studios for a September trip. I don't always stick to studios, usually one-two bedrooms but this year doing a GV in November so wanted to save some points.

Anyway, if I didn't walk my BWV pool/garden view, I would not have all the days today for my ressie.

If I have that right, the one benefit of RIV WL is that new inventory could be declared between now and then and it could come though,

But, when you have two WL for the same time period, if one comes through, they fill it and cancel the other. So, if, say BW view comes through, it would cancel the RIV, and you’d have to start again.

I am becoming more and more happy to stay at RIV vs BWV, even with the additional point cost. After having stayed at BCV in December, it has become 2nd choice for Epcot area surpassing BWV.

So, I m biased, but I’d WL BCV and RIV!

Oops, I know both BW and BC will be difficult to get but where do I have more of a chance:

Thank you. I kept my BW with BW view as a WL but if I had to choose, I would choose BC if it was a remote chance over BW.

Hmmm...that’s tough. I’m in a similar position. We are doing a split stay this summer in 1BRs using non-home booking for 2 of the nights. I actually have the chance to stay in a SV 1BR at RIV or a P/G 1BR at BWV. One of the two nights has come up at both BCV and SV 1BR at BWV. I decided to go ahead and book the P/G 1BR for now at BWV for a few reasons:

1) BWV is cheaper than RIV (14 points cheaper for preferred BWV vs standard RIV)
2) We’re staying at RIV a few months later (this is a HUGE reason because we like to change it up)
3) I think SAB will be a nightmare over 4th of July week
4) We actually really love the creepy clown pool at BWV, and the pool hopping is blocked out that week
5) I snagged the one night in a SV 1BR at BWV and am hoping to get the other night via WL

I just thought I would share our reasons in case this helps you at all with your decision. Good luck on your wait lists!

There are only 29 BWV BW view studios, vs 110 BCV studios vs RIV 66 SView, & 120 PView (you didn't say which view) - so odds are best with RIV PView or BCV.

btw, your WLs are at our 2 favorite resorts (despite owning at all 3, would absolutely pick BWV or RIV over BCV any day).

Had I lost it, I would have kicked myself.

ggggrrrr I am torn on what to do.
I‘ll sleep on it and decide in the morning. Im not concerned about the points but my favorite locations are the monorail line and BW area. Have you stayed at RIV yet? Why are you trying it? Just to give it a try?

Staying end of March. But I walked through it in Dec and loved it. I like the resort style and how everything is in one building.

I can’t walk to the park but I’ve got the lake to walk Around in the morning like I did the Boardwalk. If the Skyliner breaks down, I’ll walk to BCV and Lyft back at night or in morning. Worth the extra it could cost.

I don’t like the boats at all so for me, ill be much happier. At BWV, it was a pain to get drinks going out to bakery. It just was never my favorite. BLT and VGF are. I’d sell BWV but it’s hubby’s favorite.

I changed my WL today to WL for BW view at BW and a WL for BC. I will still make a ressie at Topolinos. I think we can
walk from the BW and take the Skyliner to RIV, is that correct? I also wanted to RD MGM and Epcot so this will also make it less stressful for me in that I can just walk to both (my mom will use a scooter so walking won't matter).

Once I'm at RIV, I can check it out. Looks beautiful.

You sure can walk and take the Skyliner to RIV. I was staying at BCV in December when I went to check it out. I am glad you came to a decision that makes you happy,

I think if you count on PV rooms, and are ready to book at 7 months , you’ll have a shot at staying there during another trip!
