Booked BWV 1br villa - did I make a mistake?

After making my reservation many months ago, I just realized I might have made a mistake! I have never stayed at the BWV and I tried to get a 1-bedroom villa with boardwalk view, but they were all booked. So I got what I was thinking was the next best thing and that was the pool/garden view with a request for the village green location. After reading some posts about room locations, it looks like there are no 1-bedroom villas (all studios?) with the village green location. I realize that there are no guarantees on requests, but I was really hoping that it would come thru; obviously that's not going to happen!

Are there really no 1-bedroom villas overlooking the village green?

If not, will I be disappointed with a pool/garden view? I was really hoping to be able to sit out on the balcony and watch all the hustle and bustle of the Boardwalk.

Is there a particular room location request that anyone would suggest?

Thanks,

There are no 1 bedrooms with a Village Green view. Rooms X051 are on the corner between the Village Green and the Boardwalk and actually face the Village Green but are assigned as Boardwalk view.
For sure you should stay on the BW view wait list until 7 days before. You have nothing to lose because the BW view rooms require the same points as pool/garden view. Starting at 7 days out there is no wait list anymore, so if you can call everyday I would do so. You could try to do it online but if a BW view room would become available it might be tricky to cancel and rebook without risking losing both rooms (some MS agents say they can somehow "hold" a room for a couple of minutes--don't know if that is true).
Once when we needed to change to a 2 bedroom at the last minute and we couldn't get BW view. We asked for and got a view of the main pool. I prefer BW view, but it was fun watching the pool activity and boats going to DHS. Here is a photo:

I surely hope you get a happy surprise and end up on the BW. Good luck!

As the picture of the PP shows, the main pool view is very nice. Higher floors have nice views, but that may require stays. If you end up with the pool/garden views, request it close to the elevators.

If the main pool view is too "busy" (although if you wanted a BW View room, I suspect not) most of the other rooms face the croquet lawn or the quiet pool

Thanks for all the replies so far. I am on the waiting list for a boardwalk view, but I am not holding my breath. The pic of the pool view looks nice, so I can't complain if we get that type of view. I think it would be neat to see the boats go by on their way to and from HS.

Is it just me though, but it seems like the point allocations should be more for the Boardwalk views than the garden/pool views???

Thanks again to all,

ITA. My guess (totally conjecture on my part) is that if Disney had it to do over again they would have 3 separate point charts for BWV: standard, preferred and BW views. At one time there was no separate booking category for BW view but I think that there were so many hassles for the poor front desk CMs at BWV that it was decided to make BW view a separate booking. It makes sense to me also that BW view should be a few more points than preferred. Currently a BW view at BWV requires about the same number of points as a room at BCV with little or no view. Perhaps at some time the categories at BWV will change to 3 separate categories. Because the total point allocation across all categories can't change, there would likely be a slight decrease in the cost of a pool/garden view as well as an increase for BW view. In the meantime I am enjoying BW view whenever I can. If and when BW view costs more, I will gladly ante up. I love it.

otterpop......if you think you would like to watch the boats on the canal....request a top floor room (5th I believe) above the croquet lawn. The view of the canal from those rooms is awesome......my favorite at BWV. The only drawback is they are a great distance from the elevators, however, they are very near a stairwell which comes out on the canal side of Jellyrolls so if you don't mind walking down the steps (too many to walk up!!!) being far from the elevator is only a problem on your way back to your room!!

I just returned Saturday and I will never ever stay anywhere else. I loved the entire vibe of Boardwalk. You will love it no matter the view. We watched performers every night. Kouzinna was fantastic. (and I'm married to a Greek lol) Have a wonderful time!

We have always requested main pool view and fully enjoyed it. We also enjoy the side where the morning sun hits our room and balcony (I don't recall what room #'s that would be). Of course it can get a bit warm.
