We have a standard room at the WL booked for our Oct. trip. We have stayed here and loved the resort. I've checked into switching to the Poly (garden view) and the price difference (for 10 nights) is about $700 more to stay at the Poly. Would you pay the extra $$ and stay at the Poly or save the money and stay at the WL?? Thanks in advance.

We have stayed both places and we have settled on WL because we love the hot tub and the ambience. We like most everything in one building.

The Poly is prettyr and has a nice view of MK, but we will stick to WL, for less money you get a beautiful hotel that feels like you are not in Florida at all.

The WL is my favorite hotel, but only if I'm staying in the villas. The rooms at WL are VERY small IMO, and we acutally went through the same thing on our last trip. We were booked for 2 nights in a Woodsview room and were getting worried that the room would be too small, and staying in such a small room would "spoil" the WL for us. My DD LOVES the Poly and the monorail, so we upgraded to the Poly for the monorail convience and the larger rooms. I'll stay at WL again and again, but only in the villas, due to the size of the rooms. We always stay for 10 nights in the summers, so we always split our stay between a monorail hotel and a DVC resort, since we're DVC members. If I were you, and money really isn't a problem, I'd switch. The Poly is just so convient in it's location and the monorail is GREAT!! We're debating between the Poly and the GF for next summer, but the Poly might win out since we LOVE the concierge there!!!

I did the same just last weekend from WL woods view to Poly GV for our August trip. It is more $ but after I made the change, I stopped checking other resorts. That was when I realized where I really wanted to stay for this trip.

It is much more convenient to get to MK and other parks via monorail, TTC, or the boats. I also like the restaurants there a lot.

I would vote for the Poly, just because you have never stayed there. The Poly was never any place I really wanted to try, but we decided to try all the deluxes before we choose a favorite (if that's really possible!) and I'm really glad we did. It is a wonderful resort. Loved the laid back feeling, the view of the castle, the monorail, the HUGH rooms.

i think u should stay at the polynesian..try something new..trust me you'll like it

We had the same dilemna. We had booked WL, woodsview for our trip in 2 weeks (I just love saying that!). But when FTP came out we were able to switch to Polynesian for only about $500 more. (9 nights). I think it's going to be very difficult for me to stay anywhere else after this. And I was really looking forward to staying at WL!!! I say go with your gut feeling.

If I were you, I'd try the Poly. It doesn't sound like the money difference is a big issue, so why not try something new? I've stayed at both of these hotels as well as the Beach Club. I've found they all have something great to offer- the WL has a wonderful atmosphere and you really feel away from it all there, the Beach club has a fabulous pool and easy access to Epcot where we tend to eat dinner, and the Poly has a great view of the MK, wonderful atmosphere and -I'm told- a great new pool. I'm sure you'd be happy at any of these hotels, so why not try something new this time?

Both places are great. WL has the upper hand with hot tubs which still I can't understand how the poly has a brand new pool and none. Also the food at the WL is better I think. The polys quick food area, Captain Cooks, stinks. If you are traveling with kids there is not much to choose from at the Poly. At least at the WL there is a better selection of quick foods, might not seem like a bid deal but with kids it is. Poly is great though and the monorail is a plus..

No, I would not spend the extra to stay at the Poly. Stick with the WL. Why spend the extra when you don' thave to?

Just returned from the WL. If you have the $ stay at the Polynesian. This was our 1st time at the WL. I was unimpressed!! We gave up the Polynesian thinking it was too costly. Never again!!

If you have the money to switch over to the Poly... why not just upgrade to a courtyard view or suite at the WL???

OR! Even upgrade to the concierge level at the WL and ask for a room that you can see the fireworks at MK!

Poly is my absolute favorite resort. However, I think I would save the $700 and stay at WL. I love WL too. I think the transportation options are good; I like the boat to MK and boat to Contemporary (which I didn't remember on my last stay). I guess it depends on how much the $700 savings means to you. You'll be at a great resort regardless of your decision!

I'm in the minority here, but having stayed at both, I would choose the WL even if they were the same price. The Poly is too spread out for my liking and the Great Ceremonial House is a zoo, always loud and wild with everyone hopping off the monorail to explore it. The main pool is also cold (although the quiet pool is warm). Even my kids wouldn't swim in the main pool at the Poly - and they swim in the ocean in Maine! The Poly also doesn't have a hot tub. What's with that?

The WL is much more peaceful. Of course, I say this as someone who really values tranquility on my vacations - we are staying at the WL for the third time in October, and our other favorite is the AKL. The pool in the WL is warm and they have 2 hot tubs. I know the Poly has devoted fans, but I was underwhelmed by the place, and would not pay extra to stay there.
