Well we've been back less than 3 weeks and I just HAD to book for next year.

I've only booked my flights so far, going with Virgin again on September 3rd for 10 nights.

I am going to book accomodation nearer the time, will be hunting the board for good deals.

We've got our annual Universal passes, 3 days left on our park hoppers (and one plus) so we won't be spending a fortune on park tickets which is good.

If anyone could give me any feedback about travelling in early September I'd be really grateful (I'm aware of it being hurricane season)

I'm excited all over again :bounce:

Excellent news.

We went in Sept 10 and I remember it being hot and humid.

I am sure whatever the weather you will have a brilliant time.

Happy Planning

Hi,

I found September to be very hot and, best of all, quiet.

Have you been there when the 'lovebugs' are in season before?

They are little black flying beetles that are very amorous. (you never see one, they are always attached to another one!).
They are completely harmless, but there are HUGE quantities of them - everywhere -and they stick well to sweaty skin! I think that September is one of their months for visiting WDW - have never seen them at all in Nov or Jan, but saw a lifetime's worth in one trip in Septmeber.

I distinctly remember visiting Blizzard Beach, where the wave pool was full of them, and then playing Winter Summerland golf, where the themeing was more lovebug than Christmas.

Don't let this put you off, even if you are squeamish (I am) you will very soon get casual about them.

Have fun!

September is a lovely month! it is hot and fairly quiet if you miss labour day weekend. The problem but do not let it worry you is that it is peak hurricaine season, you can get 3 or 4 days of very wet weather at a stretch if you are unlucky. Having said that when it has happened to us we have still gone to the parks as they are almost empty and even though it rains it is still HOT!

I went in September a couple of years ago. It was really quiet - possibly to quiet!!

Weather was similar to Summer with Sun & Heavy Showers

we went from 21 sept to 5 oct and loved it

the most we queued for anything was 15 mins
- we only used fastpass twice and that was just to see what it was all about

the weather was really hot but not too humid

the only downer was the rain as the tail effects from hurricane isadore caused lots of rain from about 3pm onwards lasting all evening on the first and second day but then only for an hour for a few days after that

i would definitely recommend going at this time of year

Thanks for the info!!!

I've been in May, October, November and December so far. Wanted to try another month out, so September it is! :D

September is a great month if you want low crowds. You should also do very well in getting a nice deal on rates for a place to stay. Our family really enjoys visiting in September as much as possible just because of the low crowds. The summer crowds go away as soon as Labor day is over (which is Sep 1 in 2003) and all of the schools are back in session.

Weather - well this is Floirda. It's just as hot in September as it is in June, July and August.... Summer lasts a long time here. So make sure you find a place with a nice swimming pool. Or try the water parks. BB and TL are great. Have fun and hope this helps.

No kidding about these little monsters. You wouldn't believe what they can do to the front of your car. You need to clean them off ASAP, cause the dead bugs eat right through the paint. Yuck!
