Booked A wdw Room What Do You Think

Hiya

Well after much thought I rang disney directly to book a room, I wanted a tower room at Contemporary, but the lady on the phone said there were no ap discounts yet, and that it would be best for me to book a room at pop then change it when the rates came out. I didnt question her then, but now I am wondering how I can do this? I mean I have paid for the room at pop, so how can it be changed when the rates come out, I am totally confused.
This is a suprise for dbf as he has always wanted to stay at the contemporary. So cant ask for his advice on this, any seasoned disney hotel bookers out there that can help?

On a positive note, I have now book my crt breakfast and chef mickey so that part I am happy on, just not happy with the room yet.

Not sure about this one Anna I thought that you could just book the room at the Contemporary and then phone them up when the AP discounts are announced and get them to apply the discount to your booking.

This way you do save money initially I suppose by booking at a cheaper resort but you also run the risk of the availability being reduced when the AP rates are released

They just apply whetaver you have paid for the original ressie to the new one you make.

Well, you can definitely switch to an AP rate if one becomes available, but I can't see the point in booking a room at Pop. I would have booked the room I wanted (i.e. a Tower at the Contemporary) and then changed to the AP rate when it's announced.
