booked 1st trip ever-what do i do now???

We (DH,DS&DS) are staying at POR for 6 nights at the end of May. We're celebrating our 10 yr anniv!!!! Do I need to make a room request? Any recommendations??? We should be there around noon-will we be able to check in with hotel in order to get our tickets??? please help!

You can request a room in a certain section but there are no guarantees. Checkout pictures of the rooms on this site and wdwig.com. If you ordered your tickets with the room, your tickets will be good once you checkin at PORS even if your room isn't ready at checkin. The checkin clerks will give you everything when your prechecking in and they will hand you a card with a number to call back to see if your room is ready, that way you can hit the parks. You'll love the resort, it is very peaceful with great walks inbetween buildings and your kids will love the pool, slide and playarea. Have a great time and enjoy.

I would definitely make requests... think about these....

smoking or non?
any particular building you like? (check resort map)
aligator bayou or mansions section?
do you need a crib?
do you need any bedrails?
do you want a particular floor?

Stuff like that.

You can check-in anytime you like, they'll give you your park tickets and store your luggage for you.

Just a note of congratulations! We have booked our first trip to WDW for the end of May - for our 10 year anniversary also! DH, DS7, DD5 will be staying at WL. We are soooo excited! Have a great time -

Did you tell the CM you were celebrating your 10 yr. annniversary? Be sure to mention that when you check in, and when you make a PS, and wherever you go... Enjoy!

We stayed at PO several times (one of my absolute favorites)
a suggestion, try Alligator Bayou, quiet(ier) area and very nice
non smoking, they have trundle beds (request) your kids will love that!!
