Planning on booking our trip this week for Sept. Not sure if I should add the dining plan then hope for FD or book without DP.:confused3 We have had FD in the past, but I never booked before it had come out.

I would book it now and cancel or change it later. I booked without and added a few days later and in the mean time, ticket prices increased and my ticket price increased when I added DDP.

You may have already booked...

But is there any chance that you would keep the DDP even if FD didn't come out? Then book with DDP

Do you want to book pre-pay ADRs (CRT, HDDR, etc.) before you know if FD comes out. If you don't have DDP attached to your reservation, then your credit card will be charged in full NOW.

Thank you both for your responses. If I pay for the DP and FD does come out for my dates,Then will my credit card be reimbursed?:confused3 I know it would have to be a new reservation made. I have now pre-pay dinning made. TY

Should a free dining offer be made that includes your check-in date, you would not have to cancel and make a new reservation if you have already booked a package. If you book a room-only reservation instead of a package, then you would have to cancel and rebook as a package to get free dining.

However, you'd need to check on whether the offer is applicable to the resort/room category that you already booked. If it's not at the time you call, you'd have to change resorts and/or room categories to get the free dining.

You can change the prepaid dining to dining credits. You can do this by calling WDW-DINE or if they say they can't do it, you can do it when you arrive at CRT and when you pick up tickets for dinner shows.

Hate the dinning plan. Not worth it in my opinion.

And if everyone books "hoping" for free dining, there won't be any reason for Disney to offer FD anyway since they will see that the rooms are booking without any promo at all.

That is the sad truth, and all I have been reading is everyone booking and hoping or FD. Disney sees that the rooms are filled and there is no need to offer any discounts at all. It is not a good idea to book in hopes of a discount.

I know :crazy2: when I started looking at the crowd predictor websites (touringplans, easywdw, undercover tourist, etc) early this year for September dates for our trip, the crowd levels were all 1's, 2's and a few 3's sprinkled around. Now all of September is 3's, 4's and a few 2's sparadically.
They base the crowd levels on historical data until the rooms start booking up, then they adjust the crowd levels.
We will have to wait and see what happens. :coffee:
