We are thinking about flying for the first time this fall. Does anyone know, is it cheaper to book flights through Disney when booking your hotel etc... or directly from the airlines?

We always book separately, direct with the Airlines so we get just what we want and have control

When I asked for last trip the CM told me they did not make the reservations anymore? Not sure if it was miss information or not.
I always prefer to book them seperate, more control.

When I went for the One More Disney Day I booked my airfare through Disney and it was only $140 round trip from Kentucky but, it was very last minute.

I would check both to be honest. We've always booked separately but I know for sure last year there was a period of time where the same flights I was looking at were a few hundred lower with Disney for a few days than they were through the airline!
A bunch of other people reported the same thing around that time. I don't know if it was a fluke thing or if every once in awhile they can offer lower prices because they negotiate them at a certain rate.

Book with the airline unless Disney has a really great deal. If the airline starts making schedule changes or flight cancellations you don't want a third party involved. I can't think of any advantage of booking through Disney.

I've seen no price different when comparing booking thru or seperate. The problem for me is none of the fights Disney offers are nonstop.

If I book thru Disney I get offered Delta or American with transfers in Cinci., Dallas, Chi., or a couple other cities. If I book with SouthWestAirlines I get at least 4-6 nonstop there and 6-8 nonstops on the way back. So for me it is a choice of 2hrs15min (nonstop) VS. 4hrs25min-6hrs50min changing planes.

I've seen this happen as well.

I booked my air through Disney and the price was the same as if I booked directly with United. I got non stop flights and was able to log into United to choose our seats-I ended up upgrading a little.
