Hey all!
I am looking for a good book recommendation for my upcoming trip. I'm one of those travelers that likes to read about the area I'm visiting. I was thinking of trying the "Kingdom Keepers" series, has anyone tried those? What did you think? I'm worried they may be a bit too young...

Anyway, I'm open to suggestions about Disney or California, fiction or non-fiction, whatever. Just anything that is tied to Disneyland or the area. For example, last year I read Isabel Allende's "Zorro" on my trip, which was fabulous! So just about anything but guide books.

Thanks so much to everyone for all your help! I am so glad I found a group of other people who are as obsessed with Disney as I am!

here's a few books I really enjoyed that I think might fit the bill.

In Service to the Mouse by Jack Lindquest (both kindle and hardback.) I love everything in this book aside from his thoughts on changing the theme of Main St.

Disneyland: Inside Story by Randy Bright. This only comes in hardback and it out of print so a little expensive, but this might be the best book I've ever read about Disneyland history.

In the Shadow of the Matterhorn by Dave Smith. This book isn't quite on par with the first two books, but there is some great behind the scenes stories from a former CM who grew-up near Disneyland. Nice price and a quick read.

Disney Trivia from the Vault by Dave Smith (different Smith than above.) This book is written by the former Disney archivist and has tons of quick-hitting, easy to read trivia about many facets of Disney-mania, but my two favorite chapters covered the parks and Walt trivia.

Let me know if you end up reading any of these titles and have a wonderful trip :thumbsup2

I have read all of the Kingdom Keepers books and really enjoyed them. However, the first four are set in WDW and the most recent one aboard a Disney cruise ship. I think there are ultimately going to be 7 books, so 2 more yet to come. I know eventually the Keepers are going to end up in DL, but it might not be until the last book.
