I am getting too many suggestions for the Bookclub list so I thought I'd open this thread as a place to suggest a good read. These books may not make it onto our bookclub list but might be useful if you are looking for some extra reading ideas.

The books that I've had suggested recently are

The Gargoyle by Andrew Davison
The Brutal Art by Jesse Kellerman
'The 5 People you meet in Heaven' by Mitch Albom
Burning Bright by Tracy Chevalier

Nervous Conditions by Tsitsi Dangarembga

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson
The 19th Wife by David Ebershoff
The forgotten Garden by Kate Morton

Feel free to add any more to this thread.

On the topic of chick lit, I loved The Undomestic Goddess by Sophie Kinsella.

Try The Book Theif - I think its by Marcus Zusack. Its AMAZING!!!!

Probably not suitable for a bookclub but the Twilight series by Stephanie Meyer are the most addictive books i have read.

Deedee I am waiting for the 4th one to come out in paperback and it is a long wait! My DD is on the 2nd one.

have you read 'the host' by same author.?
