I've done both in the past without issue...this time we're trying to book for easter break. I'm not going to be able to call right at 9am tomorrow morning, should I just make the ressie online? We're wanting to stay at Saratoga Springs (home resort) in a studio.

What do you think?

Studios at SSR are not going to sell out that fast, even for one of the weeks surrounding Easter. You could call later in the day, tomorrow or if you prefer an email request (which MS works as they get the time), I think that will work just fine also.

You must be using developer points - if not, I'd be wondering why you waited for the 7 month window, since you are staying at your home resort. :)

Enjoy the planning and the trip!

Like I posted elsewhere, if you are not going to be able to call until the afternoon, out in the online request. When you do call later that day, verify if the reservation has been filled. If not make the reservation (if available) and cancel the online request.

Thanks! As for the 7 month window....we never go during peak times...our friends decided this week that they wanted to go to WDW during Easter break and asked us to come too...not ones to pass up on Disney, we said sure...then realized how close it really is! AND then they couldn't decide on dates...which pushed us right to the 7 month point.

Thanks for all of your help!

I saw on the member site where you can book a ressie- I wondered if this was better or worse- Would you get a confirmation from the online ressie or would it be delayed and you'd have to wait for it? I got through to MS this morning fine but wondered if booking online in the future would be best- Is the bookings online able to bedone at any time or between 9- 5:30? If 7 mos window is morning of... April 12th- would you have to technically wait until 9 am to book online or could you book at say 2 AM the 12th for April 12th the next year (7 mos)-? Interesting...

It generates an email to MS that often takes 1-2 days for them to get to. It works well if there is availability but you are sacrificing a day or two minimum where people are already booking the unit type/resort you may need.

Just got the e-mail....we are goin' to WDW for Easter! I booked online and got our ressie at SSR (home resort) for our entire stay! :bouncingp :ale:

We booked online on Friday morning and heard back tonite...not as bad of a wait as I thought it would be.

We decided to just go with SSR....didn't want to deal with waitlists, etc. and this way we could guarantee our stay.

Yippee! Now the planning can begin!!

Thanks for all of your help!

That's great! Have fun planning!
