I had bought the 50th book at Disneyland a few years ago. It's a great book by the way (lots of early pictures of DL and info). But it left me wanting to know more about the man who started it all.

I just went to Amazon, there's a ton of books on him. Does anyone have any recommendations for me? I think it makes our trips to DL so much more interesting when I know more of "why" things are the way they are because of what Walt wanted ect... I know after reading the 50th book it made things even more special to me (if that's possible!) Thanks!

My husband just bought "Walt Disney the Triumph of the American Imagination" by Neal Gabler. It is huge and looks interesting. I am reading it after he does! It is a fairly new book.

I have the DVD, "Walt, The Man Behind the Myth" and it is wonderful IMO. It is a 90 minute (or so) documentary with comments by Walt and others that knew him. Lots of old footage and neat sights. I REALLY enjoy this one.

Have fun,

I'm reading right now "Walt Disney the Triumph of the American Imagination" by Neal Gabler. I highly recommend it. It's a big book, but I noticed that the last inch or so of the book is all footnotes and index materials, so it's not as daunting as it looks at first glance. It really gives you a good feel for what kind of person Walt was and I'm really enjoying it. It just came out before Christmas.
