We are sailing in May. Currently Silver, will be gold after our May sailing. Im looking at next summers offerings and wondering if it would be better to get a deposit on it now (when Silver opens up), or should I wait until we get a placeholder in May. (Specifically looking at British Isles). Maybe I should just wait and get placeholder and plan on 2028. But, Im trying to weigh our options for next summer.

Thanks!

We booked a Med cruise with place holder for this summer on opening day Feb 2025. Just bc I was curious, I watched and the price didn't start to go up for about 8 mos. But, nothing to be lost by booking now and canceling and rebooking once you have your placeholder if price doesn't go up.

British Isles may not go up as much as some of the others since it is September after kids are back in school. Having said that, I would book and then after you get your placeholder look at pricing and see if it saves you money to rebook or keep the original booking.

You do risk losing your booked cabin since if you’re want to use placeholder, since they have to cancel the booked cabin and rebook with placeholder. So the cabin could get grabbed in the switch over. So not really a big deal if you are flexible on cabin choice.

This is true, but if the cabin isn’t booked until after the placeholder is purchased, then the cabin of choice may not be available anyhow.
