Book hotel before aph rates out?

Hi, I'm new, just discovered this great board! We have preferred annual passes and want to go sometime after the new year. I don't think aph rates have been released for January 2014 yet. Should we book now and then call for aph rates, or wait to book until aph rates are released? Perhaps oct or nov?

since i need specific dates for my darkside stay, i book 11 months out at rack and modify when the ap rates come out.


january will have the btg and other tg.
i think the third weekend has the parry hotter gala event.

Thanks for clarifying- do these groups usually have access to express lines, or do they usually use reg lines?

it isn't a problem for the express lines but the large groups can be irritating.



any large group can be lacking in their consideration of others.




if you see a person carrying a flag and many following, just go in the opposite direction and you'll be fine.

I saw a person with a flag a couple a weeks ago and I grabbed my daughters hand and told her to not let go and we took off. I would have freaked if we got seperated since it was just the two of us.

Thanks all for the insights. I have been watching the airfare and it jumped and then went back down so I pulled the trigger and bought our tickets, and thru Travelocity booked the hard rock with an extra 10% off thru the "10summer" promotion, so saved $100 off the hotel. But it's fully refundable if I'm able to secure an aph rate closer to the time.
