Ok i need some help, we're going to the world june 10-18 for a family reunion! We're all flying out of pittsburgh and im the lucky one that has had to plan everything so far, dont get me wrong i love doing it, but im worried about flight prices. There are 18 of us and i dont know if i should book now or wait for prices to come down. And if anyone could tell me about kidani that would be great, its going to be our first time staying there! Thanks!

We are going at the same time and we booked last week.Prices seem to be better midweek more on wkends!I checked prices everday for a month through SW and decided to go ahead and book.I have heard that the cheaper seats go 1st then they are gone!My tickets I bought last week are already more!Plus your flight times will fill up.If you use SW and use early bird check in to get a better spot in line and book this early the airline says we will be 1st in line for the seats we want so we can sit together.

With the group size it will be hard getting a good fare for everyone. Often the airliners give a special fare, but they do limit the seats for that price. I would purchase your tickets in groups. We fly with 6 on some trips and I purchase 2 sets of 3 seats. This way when Jetblue drops the fare and it says "only 4 seats available at this price" I can get a partial credit for one group. We are traveling with 10 in Oct (31) and I already purchased our tickets for the flight down. They were only $59 each and I knew they would never get better than that. I guess it depends who you fly. I know SW and Jetblue both offer a credit if the fare drops, so that is something you might want to consider. Also keep in mind the baggage fees with some airlines. So far SW and JB do not charge for the 1st bag per person. Good luck!

Pesonally, I wouldn't wait. I'm currently the planner for 19 of us cruising in Oct and just get what I can ASAP. If they want to watch fares and gamble then they're on their own. I don't want to be responsible for 'dropping the ball' for 19 people if the price goes up. June is a popular time so don't count on fares staying low for long.
jmho. :goodvibes

Soon as I see a price I can live with I book. I think the discount airlines like Airtran, JB and SW tend to have their lowest prices further out. You might get lucky on Expedia or Orbitz closer to your travel date but I don't like to tempt fate. For me (in NYC area) if I can get $250 RT or lower I book.

All depends on the airline. The fares are often lower on Tues and sometimes cheaper at 7am. At least thats what I found when I use Continental. Usually I use Spirit. I got great airfare for 6/5-6/11, $59 pp each way, but the have hidden costs.. They charge additional fees to choose seats. The fees vary from $8-$16, depending on choices, and they charge for checked bags.
Their fees can vary from day to day, you just have to hit it right. Usually they get more expensive as you get closer to the trip.
