Ok i need some help, we're going to the world june 10-18 for a family reunion! We're all flying out of pittsburgh and im the lucky one that has had to plan everything so far, dont get me wrong i love doing it, but im worried about flight prices. There are 18 of us and i dont know if i should book now or wait for prices to come down. And if anyone could tell me about kidani that would be great, its going to be our first time staying there! Thanks!

First, you might get more advice about this if you post it on the Transportation board. Personally, I would've probably already booked by now as I usually book our air soon after I book our trip or as soon as the budget airlines like Air Tran & SW release their itineraries. Unless I plan a trip on short notice I usually book our summer (July / August) trips in January and I booked our March trip in October... FWIW airline fares have been running higher this year than last year...so they may not be going down...

18 people on a flight is a good chunk of seats, i'd book now as options are rather limited in the burg

not sure if 18 qualifies for group fares on airtran or not, u may want to check into that

fyi, when flying out of PIT, if i see anything under $100 one way, im just thrilled...SWA has been more in range of $150 for the last few years on all but mid week flights:confused3although i've caught some price drops after i've booked (typically as soon as the flight schedule is released). Can't say i've ever seen the $49-$59 fares so many report here.

you could book SWA & monitor the prices if you can use future credits from possible flight drops.

btw, Kidani is lovely:cloud9:one of the best onsite pools & it's amazing to be able to view the animals (especially from your balcony;))

enjoy your trip

With 18 people going, I would book ASAP! Also, I have found the services of a good travel agent helpful when booking a group. Good luck, and have a great trip!

I planned to fly PIT-MCO on Southwest last June, leaving on a Sunday in the middle of the month, returning on Saturday night. The initial price for the flights I wanted were about $360 roundtrip. I didn't want the evening flight to MCO because I was meeting friends for dinner, that flight had a better price. I waited and waited, it never went down, in fact it went up to around $400. I ended up cashing in some hotel points for SW points and got a free ticket flying down on Saturday (nothing available on Sunday). I used some starwood points to get a room at the Swan for that night. Both flights were soldout so everyone must have paid those high prices.

I stayed at Kidani, loved it!
