Thanks so much everyone for your thoughts. We did book the 11:50 flight and will follow all the advice given to make sure we don't miss our flight.

And I don't understand why people don't realize after all this time, that yes, you must remove your belt. And your shoes, and any metallic objects from your pockets. Yes, that means your watch, also. Yes, the lap top must be removed from it's case/holder.

Not to be contrary, but just to add alternate experiences, when we went through MCO security recently, I was told by the TSA officer that I did not need to remove my belt or my watch. I did have to empty my pockets and take off my shoes, and take out my laptop (if I had one).

I don't know if it varies by officer, or if things have changed or what. I gather with their new scanners they can narrow down a lot of things. I did get flagged for a quick follow up scan both times, but not in the area of my watch or belt (on the way in I think I took them off out of habit), it was in the area of my right shoulder. They did a quick wand scan of that area and let me through. I'll have to ask my doctor about that I guess.
