hello folks ... according to Ebates, today (11/11/17) you’re allowed to book a cruise and received 11% cash back. You would have to log onto your free Ebates account, link and log into Travelocity. Once you’re on Travelocity, you can book a cruise like any other website.

Has anyone done this before? Is it really true I can save 11%?!?! I’ve hesitated to book a cruise I want to go on because I didn’t have the 10% Onboard Booking discount. Anyone with experience booking a cruise through EBates/Travelocity? Anyone have any advice for me? Thank you and have a nice day!!

My only experience with Travelocity is booking hotels... non-refundable hotels. Is that policy the same for their cruise bookings and does that bother you, if it is?

Another option for you, if you have a Costco membership, would be to check out the Costco travel site, which gives you a percentage cash back on a Costco card. In the U.S., it's around 8%, while in Canada, it's more like 10 or 11% (due to the dollar exchange, I think). Also, if you're an executive member, there's an additional 2% back on your executive rebate in the following year.

I've never booked a cruise through them, but you couldn't pay me enough to book anything through Travelocity. They literally have the worst customer service I have ever experienced. They cost me hours and hours and countless headaches with our flights to Vancouver for our Alaskan cruise. It was a complete nightmare. Thankfully, WestJet saved the day when Travelocity literally washed their hands of the entire situation (despite being the cause of much of the problem). And I can't say enough good things about WestJet if anyone is booking their air to Vancouver for Alaska.

I guess with a cruise, you could probably deal with Disney for much of it. Though if you needed to make any changes or cancel, you could only go through Travelocity. And if you rebook onboard a placeholder or anything, it's automatically with your current TA, which would be Travelocity.

This is because Travelocity has, effectively, purchased the booking from the hotel and then you're buying that booking from Travelocity. With a cruise, you'll be under Disney's cruise contract. It's like any other TA. They would be able to cancel with the same terms.

I booked with Expedia when they had a large cash back amount and when the cash back was posted (it was quite awhile after my cruise) it was the wrong amount. I had Ebates go through a review. I did eventually get the correct cash back but I did have to watch it carefully and put in a little time to get it. And all requests (main dining wait list, etc..) had to go through Expedia. I did book a placeholder onboard and requested no travel agent so I could transfer that to costco for my next cruise. Also I'm pretty sure they don't give the cash back on taxes and fees so it was a little less than I was initially expecting. Good luck!
