Book a reservation for 2, but bring 3rd?

Probably a dumb question, but thought it would be worth a try. Was able to get a reservation for myself and my daughter at 1900 Fare for dinner, but can't get my niece in. Would they turn her down if she came?

Thanks.

I don't have personal experience, but I have read on the boards that this is a situational kind of thing. They're okay with, say, 2 people showing up for a 3 person ADR, but *adding* an extra might ruffle some feathers.

I've read accounts where the restaurant host accepted the extra person, but they (understandably) had to wait a bit longer.

Would it bother any of you if she got turned away or you were told you might have to wait?

4 tops can become 3 tops but it's generally much harder for a 2 top to become a 3 top, unless you get lucky and they put you at a larger table to begin with.

Yes, they could possibly turn away one person in your group. It depends on how busy the restaurant is when you arrive. Going from two to three, you will need a larger sized table. Because the servers and characters need space to move around they will not add a third chair to the two top for which you are currently booked.

Keep checking online for a reservation for your whole group. You can also subscribe to the cancellation thread for your month at the top of this forum and Touring Plans has a reservation finder that many have used.

We have been seated at a 2 top table every time we had a reservation for 2. There would not have been room for a 3rd person.

If someone ahead of you had a table for 3 or 4 booked and turned up with 2, they might be seated at a 2 top, leaving a 4 top available. That would be the only way they would have a larger table available for you.

Keep looking for another reservation, but be looking for both 3 and 4 party sizes. You won't be penalized for showing up one short.

Possibly. They can turn anyone away without an ADR. It's going to depend on their availability at the time.
