:sad1: I've just taken down my Christmas trees and the place looks huge and bare. I hate doing this job, it's so depressing, but looking on the bright side, there's only 46 weeks on Saturday till I put it back up again - Woohoo !! :)

I thought you would be one of those people who had your tree up year round ;)

I would love to, but I think hubby may want a divorce if I forced the issue :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Ours is coming down today
At least my Disney calendar is up :)

46 weeks - Oh My!!!!!! :rotfl:

Sue :wave2:

I hate this time of year too - I'm always close to tears when the decorations have gone (I can't bring myself to take them down myself!) We are allowed to keep them until the 12th day of Christmas though, so at least we have 4 more days left.

We took our tree and decs down yesterday. I agree that the place looks really uninteresting once the decorations have come down. When are you starting the Secret Santa 2006 thread then Mandy :rotfl:

Took mine down yesterday & did a 'big' clean up aswell, My living room is sparkling but empty :guilty:

One of my trees, my big one, came down last night. The other will be today.
I DO leave up my village and any snowman things,so the decorations coming down is a gradual thing here...
I like all my winter things still up. It helps you get used to things before it is all gone. ;)

Do what we do. We take down our Christmas tree and put up a small three foot holiday tree on a table. Each holiday it changes it's theme (Valentine's day, St. Patrick's Day, Easter, Birthday/Anniversary (since DH's birthday, my birthday and our anniversary are all within 6 weeks this theme is only used once during the year), 4th of July, Summer and Halloween). It goes away at Christmas. We put our gifts under it and it always seems like a holiday. It is kind of fun to find decorations for each holiday.

we took our tree down on friday  the house looks nice and clean and tidy again now

Im not a Scrooge but I'm happy that is down, feels more like 2006 now and I can start to countdown till Orlando! :teeth:

Took our tree down today as well together with all of the decorations. House is lovely and clean and tidy but a little bare.

It was really weird going on holiday for xmas ! it took ages :confused3 to pack all the cases and everything! :confused3 But i had a really good time! :smooth: But even better I went in a talent competition and came first!
But the holiday went really quickly! :hourglass :hourglass :hourglass

I took them all down this morning......then decided to change the whole room around!!!!...this is actually quite a good idea as we are know getting use to the new room layout but its strange as the TV is at the other end of the room!!

Hi Nat

Welcome to the Disboards, I hope you'll have fun here and that you'll carry on joining in with the different threads. Well done on winning the talent contest, did you win anything nice ? :)

Our trees and decorations always go up the first week in December and we don't take them down until twelfth night - I figure we might as well make the most of it. I must admit, though, that the run-up to Christmas is far nicer than these final few days - always seems a bit depressing.

Still, we go to WDW a week on Thursday!

That'll soften the blow! :earboy2:

We took our decorations down on Friday as we needed the space so DD could actually play with her presents!

Just bought my first pressies for next year in the sale - a couple of Christmas Babygros for DS and some smellies for DD's pre-school teachers!

We took our decs down today and its very bare in our house too. We felt a bit sad when we were doing it but i agree that we can now start to enjoy 2006 and plan even more for our hols :cool1:
