I just saw this commercial the other day for "Boohbah", a doll for kids which reminds me somewhat of Teletubbies. I don't know what it was, but I just sort of felt creeped out by it.:scared: Maybe it was the weird echoey voices of the kids saying "Booooohbaaaaah" or just the look of the dolls themselves with their fat bodies and heads that are barely protruding out of the bodies with only their eyes peeking out, but it was a little freaky. Anyone ever seen it (who has never heard of Boohbah before) and felt creeped out by it?

I just now found out the doll is based on some kind of TV show or something. I had never heard of it!

Yes, those are incredibly creepy. I thought I was the only one who had seen those ads!

I'm creeped out watching the show! I'm glad my kids have outgrown it, otherwise it would be on the banned list along with that purple dinosaur.

The show is creepy. My DD tried to explain it, but I don't get it. My DH calls it the Possessed Show

I saw a few minutes of the "Boohbahs" when they were first aired here - too weird for me!

I like the Teletubbies though! ;)

Those dolls make some rude noises too. DS found that out with the "Try Me" button at KayBee.

I've heard that the show is produced for the youngest possible audience--little babies.

It's weird as heck though. If I had a baby, I think I'd pass on letting him/her watch it.

I mean, does a 3 month-old really need to watch TV? I don't think so.

I've seen the dolls in the stores - I think they are very weird. I could not buy them for any child in my life!!!

I cannot STAND those things. I can't even look at them. I don't know what they are and I don't like them at all!

It dances and makes rude noises. She loves it but my 3 yr old DD is deathly afraid of it. She gets quite hysterical if it is taken out of the Toybox.
We have watched the show a few times and I just don't get it. I usually walk away shaking my head at : Mr. Man and Mrs. Lady and the rest of them.

I think they are funny looking. My 7 yr DD wants one for Christmas.

Those things are *very* creepy. DD3 even thinks so, and will let us know when we see them at the store.

That being said, we will still squeeze one of their hands to "let loose the sounds of flatulence" whenever we see them at toys 'r us. What can I say? Our family is into burpy, farty humor. :rotfl:

oh yes, i've heard of them. sadly. thankfully i'm an only child so i don't have any siblings that would like it. my friends mom wont let her 3yr old watch it. they scare me! wouldn't you think they would scare little kids? their very scary. :scared1:

TinkerBelle2992-

I agree, I would think that they would scare little kids! My DH saw the commercial and said he would be really scared if he was a kid and saw them.

wow I did not know there was a show related to them, that creeps me out even more. I hate them but when I go in a store I still have to try them just because I cannot believe that they are really that gross.

When I was 2 or 3 everytime I got hurt I would scream to my parents "I GOT A BOOOOOOOOOOBAH!!!" and just wail. 22 years after the fact, I feel it neccessary to collect royalties on my word. ;)

My DD loves Boohah but she's only 21 months. What does she know... I laugh when I see them. They kind of look like a turtle coming out of its shell (if you know what I mean:earseek: ) I'll just leave it at that. Amy
