Boo To You and The Castle Suite Too! – A September 2013 TR

I'm following along. This is an experience that I wish I could have with my family. How exciting for you!

Ha! Like mother like daughter! I'm glad you both found your cases though!

I'm kinda jealous of your afternoon flight! Our Feb flight is at 8:00 a.m. Which means I'll be getting up at like 4:30 a.m. :crazy2: NOT looking forward to that! There is something to be said for landing in Florida at 10:30 a.m. though. I'll just focus on that. :beach:

Then I got to thinking…if we are getting a hotel anyway, why don’t we fly down the night before and stay at the Hyatt MCO hotel? Then we could just get up early and hop on the Magical Express. I read about how to get a great deal on Disboards for the Hyatt and we were all set.

So, if you stay at the Hyatt, you can catch the DME in the morning? How does this work? Btw my first post to a quote. I hope this works:)

That's really amazing they they gave you another day/night and MNSSHP tickets! Man, how nice to not have to fight the crowds at the monorail after the party, just head on up to the Cinderella Castle suite instead. :cloud9:

Also, since it was such a short trip it's really great that you were able to fly down the day before and really maximize your time actually in WDW.

Now, this is going to be a fun read!

Not often you get to read a trip report by a Disney trip winner, let alone one that got to stay in the castle.

Love, love, love that Disney comped you that extra night and tickets (including MNSSHP) and sent you all the lovely free stuff!

Whoa, this is just too cool. I can't wait to read more of your story!

Subscribing.

Wow - great start. Thank you for sharing your trip - can't wait to read all about it.

The Yacht Club is GORGEOUS. I've never stayed but I've visited and I think you got a great choice! I'm excited to see your pictures.

That is so amazing that they added on an extra day! Even more pixie dust!

Great idea on the airport hotel.

Ahhhh that is so sweet about the backpack! I love that.

Thanks for joining! That is so cool you got an extra couple hours in AK. You had the park to yourself? I wish they would bring back the Year of a Million Dreams, they did some awesome things during that time. I found it kind of sad when they told me that the Castle Suite is vacant most nights. I would love for more families to have the magical experience we had that night.

The Year of a Million dreams was amazing! And, AK was open to us and about one-thousand other people . But, it was still pretty cool. And we rode Everest 10 times :thumbsup2. That's a shame that it's empty most of the time. Staying in Cinderella's home is about as magical as it gets!

I was happy with our decision to fly in the night before, mostly because our trip was short and I wanted to maximize that first day. Plus my kids always get so tired and cranky when we fly in early and head straight to the park. It made for a less stressful day. But, it will be nice for you to get there at 10:30am and if you don't have cranky kids with you, you'll be good to go!

Yes, you can use DME if you stay at the Hyatt. Just call DME and explain what you are doing and what time you'll be arriving at the DME counter. We only did carry-on bags so we didn't have to worry about it, but if you check your bags you'll need to get them yourself at baggage claim. Or Hyatt has a service that will pick them up for you. Do not add the yellow DME tags or they will go to the resort. The Hyatt was a great experience. In my next update I'll talk about our DME experience from the Hyatt. It worked out great!

We felt so blessed to win this trip and then they added the extras! It was such an unexpected surprise. It was really really nice to just head right up to our room that night once we were tired. Totally spoiled us!

Thanks for reading! The Disney Rep was so sweet with all the extras. She really went out of her way to make our trip special and I made sure to contact guest services to put in a good word about her.:thumbsup2

I kept rethinking my resort choice prior to the trip, but in the end we were sooo happy with the Yacht Club. We are used to the Moderate Level (which is also very nice) but the convenience of the Epcot area resorts can't be beat!

How lucky!!! I can't wait to read more about your trip!!!:wave2:
Hello! Thanks for reading!

You've got me hooked! Can't wait to read!
Thanks! Welcome!

1,000 people is not that many when you think about how big AK is! I bet it felt like you had the park to yourself. Everest 10 times in a row would be a dream come true for my DS! I love when Disney does things like this!

A little late but joining in. That is so incredible that you won - seriously can't wait to read all about your stay in the Castle. Congratulations!!!

I'm joining in! I'm really enjoying your TR so far. How amazing to be able to stay in the castle suite! That's awesome! I'm glad you're writing a TR about it too. I know it can be a little unnerving to write your first TR (will anyone actually READ it???) - I'm in the process of writing my first one too! But I've enjoyed remembering and reliving the fun all over again. I'm looking forward to hearing more about your adventure!

Loving this one! Can't wait to hear all about your magical trip!
Thank you! Glad you joined in.

No, you're not late, I'm just getting started. Thanks for reading along.
Congratulations!!! Can't wait to hear more:)

I know, I hesitated so much over writing this report. Hopefully, I'll be able to retell our story in a way that keeps people interested. You are right, reliving all the wonderful memories will be fun. And even if no one reads it, at least I will have our memories documented for my kids.
I will have to check out your trip report! Thanks for following along.

We wanted to get to Disney at a reasonable time, so we left our Hyatt MCO room around 7:30 a.m. We stopped and grabbed a coffee and some donuts to go and headed down to the Magical Express area. There was no one there. For a second I wondered if maybe they weren't open. However, someone came out as soon as we approached the desk. The MagicBand scanner wasn't working, but they took our tickets and told us a bus was waiting and we could get right on.

The bus was empty, so we took the front row. I told DH I was worried that we would have to wait awhile for others to arrive to make it worth the drive for them. However the bus driver got right on and told us that we would be leaving. We had a private motor-coach to Disney. How cool! We’d be getting to The Yacht Club much sooner than I thought.

We enjoyed the little welcome movie and the driver joked how he could recite that movie in his sleep!

Very soon we were seeing this awesome sign!:dance3:

Because we were the only family on the bus, we obviously didn't have to go to any other resorts. We pulled right in to the Yacht Club!! It was only 8:15 a.m. Our good luck continued as there was no line to check in. I took a few pictures of the kids as we were checking in.

Understandably, because it was so early, our room wasn't ready yet. We left our bags with bell services, picked up the stroller we rented for DD and started the quick walk towards Epcot. The Yacht Club was so beautiful and we loved it already!

We had to stop and check out the slide for a minute. DS could not wait for this. :woohoo:

I had heard that the walk to Epcot from the Yacht Club was short, but I still couldn't get over how close it was. We arrived to the International Gateway 10 minutes before Epcot even opened!! To think we had only left our room at the airport a little over an hour ago. We were making excellent time and we were so happy with our decision to stay at the airport vs. flying down that morning. I remember how excited we all were to be at the Epcot gates. :cheer2:
