BOO to Syfi dinner!!

My DH and I went here on our Honeymoon 18 yrs ago and loved it ,I would NOT say that now! Way over priced and I order the Ribs ,If you like beef jerky with BBQ sauce on it this is the place for you ! Its too bad I love the silly clips they show

OMG...so funny. I had the ribs too and left there hungry...starved. They were HORRIBLE! I will not go back either.

I will put my 2 cents in here as well.

We just got back from WDW and Sci-Fi will never be eaten at again from us. Ordered the burger and the chicken sandwich. Burger was okay but not better than many others at CS places.

The chicken sandwich looked like they plucked a chicken and plopped him all neked and such on a bun and did not even give him the courtesy of a Speedo.

It was dry and there was no seasoning on the chicken at all. First time in many trips that we asked for something different at any WDW restaurant. We had ordered the onion rings for an app (again - typical bar food. Nothing to separate these from any local sports bar fare.) and so my fiance just wanted something small. Waitress suggested a grilled cheese and brought it out. This was okay but really...how can you screw up a grilled cheese?

Got the bill and they still charged us for the chicken sandwich price when I am sure a grilled cheese is cheaper. Fiance had also ordered an adult Oreo milkshake. After having great spirits and frozen drinks around the world he thought he would try it after the waitress suggested it. There was no alcohol flavor at all and when asked how much was in it, she said, less than a shot. It was though, a whole lot more $ than a regular Oreo milkshake.

We walked out claiming it was the worst meal of the trip by a landslide and it was one we were both looking forward to.

Yak N Yetti was the best and the one he was most skeptical about.

Anyway - I am glad I am not alone feeling like I opened up my wallet and just threw $50 down the Mickey Crapper at Sci Fi.

Oh well...when can I go again???

Having read a lot of bad reviews for SciFi, we followed the good reviews and ordered burger & reuben sandwiches. Both of which were very good...as was the chips & spinach dip. Yes, I would describe them as good bar food. But we like good bar food, lol. And it was quite fun to eat at a "drive-in movie" since we grew up doing just that before all the drive-in movies were turned into shopping malls.

If you're interested in going to SciFi, try the burger or reuben

I go with the "don't order a steak at a burger joint" rule.

Burgers, onion rings, cherry coke - all good

Great place for lunch when you need a break from the heat - it's nice and cool and the semi-darkness feels relaxing in the middle of a hot day. But not a dinner place for me.

That being said - it is ALWAYS a lunch stop for us and always enjoyed by kids and parents. And my kids are old enough to sit in the front of the car while me and DH get to sit in the back and have the illusion of a kid-free meal. (Or less kid involved meal at least.)

Sorry you had a bad experience. We were there last year and had onion rings, burger and reuben and it was very, very good.

We're going back nearly two years, but I had a really dry chicken sandwich there - none of the food was anything to write home about. BUUUUT...we're going back this trip because the kids still ask about the place where they got to eat in the car and watch movies. Really, do you go for the food?! As long as it isn't too expensive, I get something passing for edible, and it doesn't make me ill, I'm good. We'll be doing lunch because, if it isn't filling, we can always have an early dinner.

Big DITTO on the mediocre food thoughts.
It's an adorable place, the ambiance is outstanding. You don't get both though (good food AND nice atmosphere) here.

I made the mistake of ordering the grilled chicken sandwich. It was dry as a bone and not a drop of anything on the cold but. I had to ask for some mayo. There was some mustard on the table so that helped. The burger didn't look all that great to me. Fries--pretty bad.

I was disappointed because we went to a seminar led by the Executive Chef from SciFi. He did a fancy fish dish which was great. Thought it would be neat to have dinner in his restaurant. We were able to walk up and get a great seat in a car.

Overall, fun lunch. Food was pretty bad though.

We ate lunch at Sci-Fi in Sept.
It was my kids favorite restaurant because they loved eating in the car & watching the movie clips. The main reason to go is for the ambiance.

We had burgers & no complaints.
