Cast of characters: Bonnie (me!) 42 and resident vacation planner!
DH Shane 45 – driver and happy doing anything!
DD Shayna 17 – Disney nut and wishes she was American instead of Canadian!
DS Ben 14 – wise guy who rolls with just about everything!
DS Jarrett 12 – used to be the easy one to travel with but now has very little patience with crowds and anything that doesn’t include swimming!

Day 3: March 11

After a short 4 hour drive, we arrive at the Comfort Suites Maingate East. We’ve stayed here before, and enjoy the amenities that surround it. We enjoyed our lunch at Ponderosa (we don’t have Ponderosa at home), hit the pool for a bit, and then headed for DTD. It’s a tradition to go there when we arrive. Like many people say, it’s a great way to start a Disney vacation. Kids love the Virgin Megastore and we were happy to find a good coffee stand. (side note: I will say that I think Canadians seem to appreciate a good, strong cup of coffee more than most Americans. Up here, we have Tim Hortons, which is a coffee/donut shop and there is one at almost every major intersection. Dunkin Donuts comes close, but there aren’t that many around. We aren’t drinkers, but we sure do appreciate a good cup of java!)

Anyway, had a great day – toured around Old Town for a bit and then settled in for the night.

(BTW, as a write this, I’m wishing I could be as creative and funny as Delswife or Growin’upDisney, but it’s not happenin’! lol)

We stayed at Comfort Suites Maingate East over Thanksgiving of 2002, what a great place! I could not believe that ride at Old Town where they drop/swing people from about a mile in the air!!!:earseek: I am really enjoying your reports!

We start our day at downtown Disney as well. Enjoying your reports:D

I really like your reports and am glad that you're not like the others...There's nothing worse than the forced humor found in those other reports.

I, too, am enjoying your reports--and you are creative in your own way.

I like strong coffee myself and can no longer even drink Dunkin Donuts. Have you tried Starbucks? Theirs is excellent!

On to the next installment.......

Bonnie,

I LOVE Tim Horton's! We make an effort to stop there whenever we are in New Bruns. or PEI. A day with out a Bearclaw...is a sad day .

Thanks for the nice things you say about America. We need all the help we can get these days. I feel the same way about Canada!

Thanks TimNJ! :D

It's been fun to read everyone's comments. I knew I would enjoy posting my trip report!

Have a great day!

Bonnie
