Bonnet Creek Vs. Wyndham LBV?

I assume you are talking the Wyndham Bonnet Creek Hotel vs the Wyndham at Downtown Disney, and closer to what?

Wyndham Grand Orlando Resort Bonnet Creek is a great location to get to parks or Downtown Disney. The amenities and pool areas are awesome. Inside the hotel is a beautiful deluxe resort and the pool area just in front of the resort is beautiful as well. It is a newer hotel. They have resort fees and parking. It has shuttles. http://www.wyndham.com/hotels/flori...nd-orlando-resort-bonnet-creek/hotel-overview

Wyndham Lake Buena Vista at Downtown Disney is a short walk across the street from the Downtown Disney. It is an old hotel that has been owned by many companies, some with bad reps. Stayed once under a previous owner and bad experience. Part of the Downtown Disney Resort Shuttle system. There is a resort fee and parking fee. http://www.wyndhamlakebuenavista.com/

There is no comparing these two hotels.

Also, you should understand that there are two parts of the Wyndham Bonnet Creek complex. The Wyndham Grand Hotel (and spa) is the small part, around 300 rooms, I think.

The much larger part of Bonnet Creek is the Wyndham Bonnet Creek Resort -- a 1,200+ unit condo-style timeshare property. The timeshare property and Wyndham Grand share amenities, so you have full access to 6 pools, 2 lazy rivers, free mini golf, the spa at the hotel, activities center at the timeshare main building, and a lot more. There is no parking fee or resort fee at the timeshare, but there is a fee for theme park shuttle buses.

You can rent villas in the timeshare from 1 bedroom to 4 bedroom, from several sources. The most expensive is renting directly from Wyndham, like you would a regular hotel reservation.

However, you can also rent timeshare reservations from owners (either directly or through a broker) and that avenue is MUCH less expensive than booking directly through Wyndham. Typically, a 2 bedroom rented for a full week from an owner will be less than $1,000 (usually in the $700-$800 range, I believe).

The resort is awesome, and is closer to Disney theme parks than any Disney value resort.

Basically I'm on another board where when people ask where to stay offsite, I say "Windsor Hills or Wyndham Bonnet Creek" and there's someone else who always insists "Wyndham Lake Buena Vista" and says it's the closest to Disney and is really on property but just not a Disney hotel, and has shuttles...and I don't know which of us is confused, because I thought that was Wyndham Bonnet Creek, but she says it's Lake Buena Vista.

I included the links above to the Bonnet Creek vs the Lake Buena Vista Wyndhams. Now it sounds like you might be talking about the Wyndham Bonnet Creek condos that the PP described.

As they said "Bonnet Creek" is located on a piece of property that includes two "complexes" if you will. The Wyndham Bonnet Creek timeshares which many many people on here talk about and sounds like you are referring to. They circle a lake and have a ton of great amenities. In the ring of buildings is the Wyndham Bonnet Creek HOTEL, a beautiful deluxe resort for those who want a deluxe hotel but with all the amenities of the timeshare complex. Also on this piece of property is the Hilton and Waldorf Astoria hotels that share a great pool, lazy river amenity. There is also the Waldorf Astoria golf club. While this is NOT Disney property it is adjacent and as close as several Disney resorts to anything you want. You have to get to this property by going through Disney property.

If this person is calling it Wyndham Lake Buena Vista, is on property with shuttles then she is referring the the older hotel in Downtown Disney that Wyndham has taken over and done some renovation to. Some people think it is the closest to Downtown Disney (Hilton is closer). In terms of getting to the parks, no it is not closer. But it in no way compares to the Wyndham Bonnet Creek Deluxe hotel and surely won't compare to Wyndham Bonnet Creek 1-3 bedroom condos - and with all the amenities that come with that property.

She is correct in it is on property, not Disney owned and has shuttles. And if you are searching hotels there the entire area is Lake Buena Vista. But if she has booked the Wyndham Lake Buena Vista Hotel and expecting the timeshare units she is in for a shock. Some of that hotel's rooms are not even up to standard hotel room sizes.

You are correct in what you understand and think about Bonnet Creek as it being a place many suggest looking in to.
