I've looked through some of the Bonnet Creek threads but I just have a couple of quick questions and I really need to book this soon as we're leaving in 2.5 weeks for a last minute trip. We got an offer for a good rate ($75 per night) from a seller on Ebay.

1) Is there a waterslide at the resort?

2) Can you get food at the pool? Are there any sit down restaurants at the resort? If not, what is available? Anyone have copies of menus? I know we have a full kitchen but besides breakfast, I hate to cook on vacation.

3) We were offered a 2 bedroom "deluxe". Is there a difference between deluxe & standard or are they all "deluxe"?

4) Can you make any requests at check in or prior to check about where you want to be located. If so, an suggestions on where to ask for? We'd like to be near the main pool & the shuttle.

5) How far is the walk to the main pool if you are in the furthest building away?

6) How are the shuttles? The schedule looks like it runs pretty frequently. We don't plan on renting a car.

7) My Dh is not coming with us on this trip. Will I still be harassed by the timeshare people?

Thanks!

1)There are waterslides and lazy man rivers at the resort
2) There is not really a sit down restaraunt..there is a pool bar that serves food and a couple of takeout food courts that you can bring back with you.
3) the two bedroom i stayed at had a full kitchen table washer dryer ironing board master batch w/ jacuzzi and second full bath.
4) We stayed in tower four(fireworx view i highly recommend it, well worth it) it was right next to the main pool and two buildigns away from the shuttle..i'm guessing a few mins walk. All of the buildings have a pool and tower 6 has a pirate pool that my kids really enjoyed.
5) Not exactly sure guessing 5 mins..the building are all in a circle surround a man made lake i guess you would call it.
6)Didnt use the shuttles we rented a car.
7) we didnt get harrased because we checked off the lowest income on the demographics sheet we filled out...gotta b creative with that...lol
Hope this helped...enjoy your stay.:)

Answers are in bold and blue to your questions. Have a wonderful time! We just re-booked today for another week in October.:thumbsup2

There are 2 waterslides at the pool. One that is blue for "smaller" kids and one at the pirate pool which has a 48" height requirement.

2) Can you get food at the pool? Are there any sit down restaurants at the resort? If not, what is available? Anyone have copies of menus? I know we have a full kitchen but besides breakfast, I hate to cook on vacation. I hate to cook, too, on vacation.:) So do alot of other Moms, so the resort is building a hotel on property with sit-down restaurants in them, but they won't be ready in time for your trip. Just pool-side food and a take away place. We ate outside of the resort for most meals.

3) We were offered a 2 bedroom "deluxe". Is there a difference between deluxe & standard or are they all "deluxe"? There are 2 different levels of rooms. I think "deluxe" is their less "glamorous" rooms, but you will be MORE than delighted. They are super nice, no worries there.

4) Can you make any requests at check in or prior to check about where you want to be located. If so, an suggestions on where to ask for? We'd like to be near the main pool & the shuttle. You can make requests at the desk, and by scanning these WBC posts, you can figure out which buildings might be a good fit, but there are no guarantees. In fact, when we went I asked for 2 different buildings and did not get either one. They put us in the main building instead, and we ended up thrilled with the location. I didn't get fireworks view, but we have a fantastic view of the main pool and lake and centrally located. Be flexible and it will all work out great.

5) How far is the walk to the main pool if you are in the furthest building away? A very short walk. We would circle the whole property just for pleasure and a little exercise. We never felt like it was too big to get anywhere...

6) How are the shuttles? The schedule looks like it runs pretty frequently. We don't plan on renting a car. We did not take the shuttle, sorry, we used our car.

7) My Dh is not coming with us on this trip. Will I still be harassed by the timeshare people? The worse part of the whole thing is we have to pick up our parking passes at a desk where they try to convince you to go on the timeshare tour. You can politely say "no thank you." But they will call your room and try to get you to come during your stay. We unplugged our room phone, so we never heard it ring. We had our cell phones to communicate with each other. Since you will not have a car, I don't think you will have to have any contact with the salespeople.... Nice!

Thanks!

1. As others have Mentioned, there are 2 slide-pools at the resort.

2. Currently there are 2 pool-bars (one on each side of the lake) which serve typical bar food (burgers, sandwiches, etc), a small deli/sandwhich shop up by the main building, and an inhouse restaurant (believe it's actually one of the 2 pool bars) that will deliver pizza/subs to your room. In Mid-October the new Wyndham Grand Hotel is opening at the site which will have several additonal restaurants, but unfortunately this is after your scheduled trip.

Beyond that, There are several places nearby which will deliver to the resort (you must meet them down outside your building's lobby since delivery drivers don't have access to the buildings), and the hilton/Waldorf complex across the street from the resort has several sitdown restaurants and is within walking distance.

3. The Deluxe rooms are the standard room of the property. in 'Wyndham Speak', A deluxe unit includes an in-room jacuzzi/whirlpool tub. This resort also has Presidential units, which have upgraded furnishings such as higher ceilings and stainless kitchen appliances.

4. The Primary building and Tower 6 are where the 2 shuttle stops are located. Towers 4 and 1 are next to the main building, and Tower 5 is pretty close to the Tower 6 shuttle stop (The stop is almost between the two towers). Beyond that, Pretty much each building has a pool, although there are different features available at each. (Tower 5 has the fort/lazy river/zero entry pool. Tower 4 is a pretty standard pool... but is next to Tower 5. also 1 of the pool bars is located here. Tower 6 has the Pirate Ship pool/Pirate Slide (I believe it also has a zero entry section, and I think I'd heard it's a saltwater pool). Between Tower 2 and 3 there is another pool with the other pool bar (which does the kareoke contests) with a water play area for kids and the other slide.

As for where to request, honestly it's really up to your personal preference based off what's important to you... and even then, there is no guarentee that the resort will honor your request.

5. again, there really isn't a "main pool" in the traditional sense of the word. Each pool has it's own features and benefits. That said, there is a walkway around the central lake that shouldn't take you more than 5min or so to walk from one side of the lake to the other.

6. I've always had a car, so I can't really speak to the shuttle schedule unfortunately. They do give you a copy of the current schedule when you check in. In general based off informaiton from the other WBC threads, it tends to run pretty regularly with a break in the afternoon.

7. Just tell them your husband is not traveling with you. They usually require both spouses in order to sell them on anything, so with your husband not traveling with you, you wouldn't qualify to attend the sales spiel. There is also the fact that since you won't have a car, you may not even need to talk to the sales people in the first place since you won't need a parking pass.
