Hi,
I tried to find this on the We Love BC Thread...but too long to read the whole thing...

For Saturday in June check in...
What time do you recommend to arrive to not have to fight crowds or to wait for room?

We arrive around lunchtime and could go straight to BC to check-in or lunch then to BC.

What is best strategy...go first and see and at least put our name in so they call when room is ready? OR, eat a nice leisurely lunch then head to BC around 2p?

Opinions welcomed. TIA.

TECHNICALLY.... Check in doesn't start until 4pm, with VIP owners being allowed to start checking in around 2pm.

In the past they used to be pretty strict about that 4pm start time during the heavy turnover days (Friday/Saturday/Sunday).

However.... between personal experience and other various reports, I'm not sure if they are still that strict... but there is still no guarantee that your room will be ready if you attempt to check in early. Saturdays are a large-turnover day, so there will be a lot of rooms that need to be cleaned from the past week's mess/guests and readied for the next week's guests between the morning checkout time (10-11am) and the arrival of the days check-ins officially starting at 4pm.

Even if you check in Early and they say they will call when the room is ready... There is no guarantee they will actually call (several reports of no calls), or that it'll make things any easy (You won't get your room key until the room is ready, so even if they call, you'll still need to go wait in line again to get the room key).

Honestly, i'd recommend just relaxing and enjoying your lunch before heading to the resort. Even if your room isn't ready when you arrive, You can still take advantage of the onsite amenities such as the pools while you wait. there is a public restroom w/ changing areas (and I think lockers) by the pool at the main building that your family can use while you take care of the checkin process. (Bonus, If you go to the parking pass/sales desk, you can tell them your spouse isn't there with you and potentially avoid being harrassed about the sales tour).
