I have been talking with a rep from Vacation Strategy and was just informed most everything in their inventory has been taken back by wyndham. Anyone else seeing/hearing this?

I am really kicking myself now for delaying and everything. Just add to another reason why I feel like this Oct trip won't happen.

Taken back all their inventory from all months or just from Oct? Oct is kinda busy with Columbus day weekend and all so I could see how that may be booked out.

Unfortunately, I think we will have to see how the changes Wyndham implemented "shake out" for the megarenters. It may be best to rent from an individual until things get ironed out. That assumes owners can actually access the website which Im seeing is perhaps debatable at best.

SkyAuction has October dates both in Buy it Now and Auction

Wyndham is all over the place right now. The rollout of their new system has been horrible (at best). They have no clue of inventory, prior reservations, and everything else. It is going to be some time before it is cleaned up. Personally, I would not worry about it. WBC WILL be there in October. Being able to rent there through owners may be a month or 2 or 3 away because of the new system.

The BEST news of all is that there are a ton of other properties if WBC falls through. I was worried about it too and it wound up being for not. Just wait out the kinks in the system.

Yea we are going to start looking at other places now too. Its just been a disaster trying to change a few plans and getting everything ironed out.

I would not book anything yet though. Just look at all the other availability out there. I knee-jerked when we lost our WBC ressie. 2 weeks later, there were at least 5 other listings for it. I booked Orange Lake because of concern. As things settled, I just looked around for general availability at a ton of other places. There were literally thousands of options available. If you want WBC, just hold of a bit even up to the 30 day mark. Worst case scenario is that you would have to "settle" for something like Windsor Hills, Orange Lake, Sheraton Vistana, and others. It is worth waiting to see what pops up.

Our friends were looking for two weeks and because of this change rented at Orange Lake.

We would really like to stay at WBC the last week in October. But, VS shows nothing and I'm not ready to pull the trigger on any Ebay auction.

We also don't know if there will be 5 or 6 of us on the trip -- not that it matters for WBC.

So I went ahead and made some hotel reservations that can be cancelled 72 hours beforehand. One at DoubleTree Disney Springs, a Caribe Royale one bedroom and a Caribe Royale two bedroom (which is what I think we would do if we have 6 and can't get WBC).

This is our first time off site. So I don't have my heart set on anything. On the other hand, I really want the family to like staying off site. If they do, we can spend less and visit more! And I think being as close as possible and avoiding major traffic jams will be a key part of that.

You will love being offsite especially if you can get WBC. Wherever you stay, I like to be on the west side of I4 so I dont have to mess with that traffic on the interstate.

Oooo. Am I looking at the map correctly when I see Caribe Royale is on the East side?

What kind of commute/traffic are we looking at? I thought it would be better than DoubleTree and all that Disney Springs mess.

I was just coming on here tonight to ask the same question about no inventory at WBC in October! I've contacted multiple websites recommended here and have been told by almost all of them that there is no availability. Wasn't sure if I was just being impatient. Thanks for the info. Haven't looked into any other properties yet and really don't want to start! I was able to find one week available for $180/night but was hoping it would be less.

I'm sure you will be fine. I just like to not have to get on/cross i4 to go to Disney when I'm offsite. Just makes travel a bit easier but it's nothing to worry over.

My advice is to just wait it out. There are a ton of places. Orange Lake Resort, Windsor Hills, Regal Palms, Sheraton Vistana, Silver Lake, Reunion, and those you mentioned along with 100s of others. Wyndham has issues with their new system. It will take weeks to months to fix. For an October visit, I would hold off until the end of August. At that point, if it is not cleared up, start putting feelers out for other places.
