Im planning an impromptue visit to DLP, were thinking of going from the 8th to the 11th of november. this would mean that were there for the last 2 nights of the bonfire celebration and then into the christmas season. :woohoo:

I was wondering how busy it would be during this season and wether the park will close early on the last night of bonfire celebration in order to set up all of the christmas things.

thanks.

They don't do anything in the parks for the Bonfire Celebration - they just do the bonfire and fireworks on Lake Disney on the evenings of the 5th, 7th and 9th (weather permitting) so you would only be there for one of the displays. You will also be there over a weekend so the parks will definitely be busier than during the week, which normally have quite low crowds at that time of year.

The parks won't close any earlier than normal on the 9th, as they put the decorations up gradually and don't do it overnight.

Hope that helps :)

We were there on 19th November for 3 days last year.

Night we got there was quite busy in Disney Village with it being sunday but the parks were reasonably quiet on the monday and tuesday.

Weather was garbage though, very wet and cold and one particular sudden storm resulted in me and DD get soaked to the skin on BTMR which i half expected to stop the weather was so bad.

We ate in SL on the monday night as it was raining so heavy we didn't really fancy getting another soaking heading into Disney Village. The buffet/carvery in the SL was very good mind.

I reckon when you go a lot of the Christmas decorations will already be up. My first visit to DLP was for the few days before and after Halloween night and on the night of the 31st after the Halloween Party people must have been working continuosly cos all the Halloween decorations had been replaced by Christmas ones by the time we got up the next morning (early!) It was amazing! And also means it'll be unlikely for the park to close early on that night :)

Thanks for the advice. We have decided to go the 9th to the 12th staying at Hotel New York with a lake side room so that we can watch all of the bonfire celebrations!

thanks again.
