I know that's not the full name.. But I had a Linda moment..
how is that resort affliated with disney?

Its not affiliated at all. Matter of fact Disney put of quit a fight when they where not able to purchase that piece of the property. Its owned by the Fairfield Resorts which is a timeshare company. They have I belive 3 or 4 other resorts in and around the Orlando area. As well as resorts all over the US. I think they are still finishing up phase 1 of there 4 step phases.

the person who owned the land back in the 60's found out that Disney was buying the land.

he raised his price from $100 a acre to $1,000 an acre.

Disney decided that they didn't need that property.....

Fairfield does not own the land. A developer does and he is trying to attract top grade hotels. but they aren't coming. However with the economy rapidly improving -hopefully he will attract some.

It is not on Disney property.

has none of the Disney guest priviledges.

it has free transportation but like most off site - only 3 or 4 times in the morning and evening. You have to reserve it 24 hours before you need it. Not WDW transportation that comes at least every 20 minutes.

I have never drove up there, so I was curious to what it was. Dh and I thought it was strange that it was so close to WDW and what seems to be Disney entrance.
