Bonanza Breakfast Buffet/ Ponderosa / Golden Coral

Hi

Does anyone know how far from Disney / Universal Ponderosa and Golden Coral are?

We will be staying at BCV, Hard Rock Hotel and VWL.

This will be our 4th time to Disney/ Universal and we have opted out of the dining plan this year so I want to try some offsite restaurants BUT we do not have a rental car so we will need to get taxis.

Is Bonanza Breakfast Buffet the Breakfast Buffet at Ponderosa? (I think I read this in a thread) or are they separate places?

I love Breakfast Buffets but will the extra $$$ for a taxi make it more expensive than a Disney Character Buffet?

And compared to the Breakfast Buffets we visited in Las Vegas the food in the Disney Hotels is repetative and theres not much choice for around the same price (but there are the characters).

Are there better buffets outside Disney?

Do any Orlando buffets rival the Las Vegas ones?

When we're at Disney our most precious resource is time. I'm wondering why you would want to waste the time it will take to cab it to and from breakfast when it might make more sense to eat in your room or grab something quick on the way to the parks.

The breakfast buffet is only $3.99, and the top of the page has a link to Orlando locations. That's a pretty good deal for an all-you-can eat breakfast, and kids eat free!

We dont eat at all in our room. We enjoy eating out so for us this is part of the fun.

Last trip we usually done a character breakfast each morning and without a car getting to a Hotel via Disney transportation also takes time out of our schedule.

Seeing as we have tried most of the Disney Breakfasts we want to do we will be returning to some and I was thinking of trying some meals offsite.

If the places we were thinking of are closer to Universal we will try them on those days.
