Well he couldn't have thought the comments were that bad...I mean...he put this man on his campaign and supported and stood behind this man until it became politically unpopular to do so. Now...even if Obama never heard these types of comments in church personally-which I find quite hard to believe- and even if Obama never really knew this man's true feelings after 20 years- which I think shows a very concerning lack of judgement- he certainly didn't learn about these comments by watching ABC or FNC Thursday night. But, not surprisingly, it appears the Obama campaign has made a fresh batch of Obama Kool-aid and his supporters have indulged and are once again flocking to defend him, with some very desperate arguments might I add.

However, I think you should be mad at your own party rather than conservatives. Your party decided to get behind a man that people knew very little about and had very little experience in national affairs because you thought that was your ticket to get Republicans out of the office. You were furious when anyone, even in your own party, dared suggest that maybe there was more to learn about him or questioned his experience.

Now, you seem to be so filled with your hatred for President Bush that you would vote in a man whose best friend is an anti-American, hate monger. I think it is time for everyone to take a deep breath and do what is right for the country. If McCain had a close personal relationship with a man like Wright I would no longer support him. The Reps are smart to just sit back and let the public form their own initial opinion, because no doubt if they try to exploit it at this point it would only serve to encourage Obama being viewed as a victim being attacked by the machine.

We both know that if this really was a "bombshell", the official hatchet job would have already been done and over with. Since when has the RNC just "sat back" and let the public decide? I think any attack on Obama can quickly slide down the slippery racism slope, especially one thats potentially construed as an "attack" on his strong affiliation to a "black" church...I think thats the more likely culprit of the "wait and see" sort of mentality with this particular story, than the fact that there's no meat to the story.

I think that's just a convenient excuse. Any attack that is indeed legitimate will get plenty of attention and backing. Attempting to make a scandal where none exists will get the lack of attention it deserves.

Actually, I don't agree with Obama on every issue, I just think that at this particular time and with the current state this country is in, Obama is the best person for the job. In case you haven't noticed it and while you personally may not give a crap, the world doesn't have a favorable opinion of America. For me, this is a huge issue, if not one of the most important issues for the time.

I don't like JMc at all and I find it sad that he's the best this country could up with. You put Colin Powell on that ticket and there would be no question as to who I would vote for, but unfortunately, I don't have that luxury. Who knows though, Colin Powell might be Obama's VP. Wouldn't that be a hoot.

Yeah I agree -- no meat at all. 50 pages of posts in 3 days all because in actuality, there is no story here at all. Wright didn't really leave the campign (un-officially).

For the record, I have always agreed with Democrats on some issues. I never downright toe a party line. For an example, I will NEVER understand how Republicans think the outsourcing of America is a good thing for this country, but many of them do.

Why should they make a martyr out of the man when he is doing a fine job of digging his own grave?? He's taking a stand that many will consider bold face lying for political gain. I know you're on the defensive right now, but I also know that you're smart enough to realize that this is a bombshell that reaches across party lines, and it will have consequences.

Wow, what a mature response. I asked for proof from anyone that it's not true. My guess is, you've never watched it all. I know I saw it on You Tube many times and just sort of laughed at the heading, but then one day I started watching it. Then I clicked the next, and then the next, then it became very troubling.

I would love NOTHING more than to read this has been debunked. I don't think anyone wants to believe our government would be involved with something like this.

For the record, I don't like Rosie O'Donnell, but facts don't really seem to be a whole lot to you. You seem more like the type that prefers to bash rather than actually debate.

I blieve PatrolMom is refering the NYT front page story in the NYT in which they claimed McCain had an "improper" relationship with a lobbyist. Unfortunately, they had no proof, no documentation, just the claim from an "anonymous" source. No video like there is on Obamas spiritual advsior for the last 20 years.

I'm refering to the John McCain story and the now debunked idea he had an affair with a lobbyist, that was front page NYT news....

this story has far more "meat" than that one did, and I hear crickets chirping.
