Bombshell Obama Pastor Video

With that cynical approach, then you'll have to admit that the "scandal" wouldn't even have to be legitimate or justified for the bulldogs to go in for the kill. We all have seen time and again when both sides have attempted to capitalize over silly crap. You can define this particular situation anyway you choose, but to say that the reason it isn't being swooped down upon is because it has no meat, is a very weak argument.

Bulldogs only go in for the kill when there is something to kill. It's not being cynical, it's being realistic.

Wow, there are a lot of angry liberals on here now.

However, I think you should be mad at your own party rather than conservatives. Your party decided to get behind a man that people knew very little about and had very little experience in national affairs because you thought that was your ticket to get Republicans out of the office. You were furious when anyone, even in your own party, dared suggest that maybe there was more to learn about him or questioned his experience.

Now, you seem to be so filled with your hatred for President Bush that you would vote in a man whose best friend is an anti-American, hate monger. I think it is time for everyone to take a deep breath and do what is right for the country. If McCain had a close personal relationship with a man like Wright I would no longer support him. End of story.

Not all Democrats / quasi-liberals here are angry. Some of us believe that Obama is not ready for prime time & believe he attended a racist church for 20+ years.

But all of us believe that GWB was an embarrasment & was wrong in his stragery over 90% of the time.

Some of us support a liberal, competent (sometimes anoying) tough chick. :thumbsup2

Seriously now, you haven't witnessed moments in politics when the opposition latches onto to incredibly lame issues?? We are on opposite sides, but I've always found you to be an insightful poster. You can be of the opinion that this story is of no long-term consequence, but I don't believe that you think so highly of the Republican attack machine to sit back and think they would say, "Eh, this is just not something we could possibly use against him since it obviously has no merit, so we'll just keep mum." Come on, even I don't think that highly of them.:rotfl:

I think any attack on Obama can quickly slide down the slippery racism slope, especially one thats potentially construed as an "attack" on his strong affiliation to a "black" church...I think thats the more likely culprit of the "wait and see" sort of mentality with this particular story, than the fact that there's no meat to the story.

ITA. And the blogosphere is doing the work for them.

Of course I have. And that's my point, admittedly in a round about sort of way. The fact that everyone is leaving this alone just proves to me that it hasn't even made it up to "incredibly lame" on the Rock'em Sock'em meter. And as I find you to be insightful also, you can't honestly tell me that the reason this isn't getting much attention from the attack machine is because of the race issue, is it? Listen, Hillary has proven that nothing is out of bounds where Obama is concerned and they have played the race card on more than one occassion. How come not now? Why is so hard to believe that this simply just isn't as much of an issue as some are trying to make it out to be?

I don't think the GOP attack machine will get a chance to skewer BO on this. As the primarys get closer next month, the media (& if they don't....HC) will be discussing:

- his church membership for the past 20 years.
- Reznick.
- His recollection of what Uncle Jeremiah said & when.
- When he wrote checks to Uncle Jeremiah's & for how much.
- His Health Care plan.
- His desire to not move forward on MI & FL redo's.
- Anything else that comes out during the vetting process.

& a 1/2 dozen other items.....drip....drip....drip.

Cue to tape. Uncle Jeremiah does a 20 second physical simulation of what Bill & other white people have done to black people all these years.

It's not a racial thing. It's about who your spiritual leaders are.

(Meadville, Williamsport, Harrisburg, Lancaster.....)

Well you know I disagree with your assessment of GWB as an embarassment (although I don't agree with everything he has done, believe me), but at least you seem to be taking the time to anaylze the candidates from the perspective of who would be best for the country. I am definitely leaning towards McCain but I would never rule out voting for Hilary. And I never thought I would ever consider Hilary!

I'm not sure how successful Hillary has really been in those attempts, but it makes a lot of sense to me that if your opposition is imploding and you can keep your hands clean, then by all means just sit quietly cheering on the sidelines. If Obama gets the nomination, then all bets are off and I don't think any of us would be shocked to see this all rehashed at that point. It certainly won't be because it suddenly developed legs.

As I said before, I'm sure the RNC already have ads in mind. I don't see anybody imploding and neither does the RNC, I'm sure. That won't stop them from dredging it up later though, I'm sure. Along with Farrakhan and the whole Muslim "Hussein" thing.

As for Hillary keeping her hands clean, that kinda doesn't jive with what you just said about grasping on to any lame excuse. For someone who admittedly is in a very difficult place right now, I would expect her to grasp at anything to further her ride down the rocky road she's been on. She knows this is a legless issue.

The "clean hands" was in reference to the Republican attack machine. This conversation initially started in regards to the Reps choosing not to enter the fray.

I couldn't have said it any better. ;)
