How's the food at Boma's?

I ate at Boma 2 years ago and the food was outstanding. The desserts are really yummy and the pressed coffee (pressed right at your table) is terrific.

We enjoy Boma -- It's a must for us. Great buffet w/ some different items. Good S African wines and the Pressed Pot Coffee is excellent. And then there's Zebra Domes. What more can I say... Be back this October

Just the name make my mouth water. A definate must do for dinner or breakfast. We stayed at AKL and fell in love with this place. Frankly it was my fave of the trip...even better than Jiko and California Grill.

If you or anyone in your party has food allergies, this is a good one to steer clear of.

DS and DH thought it was "OK" but neither has expressed an interest in returning. Due to my food allergies the items I could sample were so very limited that I can't give a reasonable review.

We love Boma but the last 2 times there we have had problems with seating. (Waiting over an hour after PS) The 1st time was over Xmas. The concierge at AKL made our PS for 3 and somehow it got lost in the system. We had the confirm number with us but it did not help. They said they would try to fit us in ASAP but 1hr later still no luck so we went to Mara.
Last time was just last month. We were celebrating a Bday and it was a group of 9. 45mins later no seats. Then again its summer, its packed and we are a large group. But tables of 8 walk ups that came in after us gets called Time for patience. We quiz them again and they said it would only be a few more minutes. Be patient. Our name is called app 15 min. later We go to the table that we have seen empty and clean for the last app 30 min. Even after all this the flank steak was worth it. A few glasses of wine may also have helped enlighten the mood These two isolated incidents wouldn't stop us from going back.

Tried for the first time last March and loved it. Even my two kids, 7 & 9. I already have a PS booked for two weeks from now. Can't wait.

This is also a "Must Do" every trip for my family! We love it!! The food and service have always been great!!! And the Zebra Domes...

We like to have dinner, then go see the animals, then shop!!! Very nice gift shop!!!

Maybe last Monday night, July 14, was an "off" night, but Boma's wasn't a good experience for us. We've enjoyed the restaurant before, but I'm not sure we'd go back again. Even with a very early seating time, the buffet was messy and there wasn't much color variation in the food presentation.
