I have never been to AKL, but we are planning on eating at Boma on our upcoming trip to WDW. Should we plan on eating dinner there the day we visit AK? How long will it take to get from AK to Boma? Thanks!

Not a bad plan at all. If AK closes at 5, I might recommend a 6:00 or 6:15 ADR. It only takes about 5 minutes to get from AK to AKL, but that gives you some time to look around, see the Lodge and the animals, etc before eating.

I agree, we ate there on our last trip then walked around to see the hotel! Very nice place.

We like to arrive about an hour early at AKL to admire the decor and have a drink or two at Victoria Falls (love that lounge).

For our trip next week, we will have dinner twice at Boma and breakfast once. Hope you enjoy as much as we do!

That's what we did. THe bus ride is just a couple of minutes. We had an ADR for 5:30 and left AK just a bit before closing. It worked out great. I loved Boma. It was my oldest DD's (8) favorite place we ate at. The lodge is such a beautiful building. I think you will really enjoy it.

You will love Boma! We stayed at the AKL last May and ate at Boma for breakfast and dinner and it was fabulous! I cannot wait to go back in December.

We did the same thing. We caught the 4:30 Lion King Show, left AK right after 5 pm, drove to the Lodge, got a drink and checked out the savannah area. The giraffes and zebras were right there! It was very cool. And there were two CM's out in the viewing area to answer questions for everyone. We then checked in for our 6:15 ADR and waited about five minutes to be seated. It was a wonderful meal, perfect ending for an awesome day. Have fun whatever you decide :flower:

That sounds like a great idea. We might take your advice and do the same thing when we go next year. How would you all suggest getting back to CR from AKL though?

That is exactly what we did and it worked out perfectly. We stayed and looked around awhile. Neat place. Was one of our favorite meals---for Disney it was the best "deal" :) Lots of great food and fit in with our day at AK--I love a theme :goodvibes

Dreamalittledream,

You could take a bus to DTD and transfer to a CR bus. This would probably take an hour or longer.

I would suggest you just take a taxi from the AKL to CR.

To get from AKL to CR, take the bus to MK, then walk or take the monorail to CR.

Boma is my dh's favorite WDW restaurant for either breakfast or dinner! (It's my 2nd fav -- after CP for breakfast and Kona for dinner.) Our 3 children love Boma, too.
