Boma

It is absolutely worth the transportation trickiness to go to Boma! My husband and I tried it for the first time on our trip last March and loved it so much we cancelled an ADR another night to go twice! They're super accommodating (I'm gluten intolerant and had no trouble finding tons of good). What's really great about Boma is that it's just food you won't find anywhere else and it's all done really well.
Plus, to offset the transportation time, I'd plan to spend a little time exploring AKL, it's an absolutely gorgeous hotel and if you go outside there are animal guides who will teach you all about the safari animals on property. The animals come surprisingly close to the fence so it's a great picture opportunity and just a great experience too. You need to be a guest to swim in the pool but you can still roam around and enjoy.

Thanks for your input, I actually just managed to just find a Boma dinner on my AK park day, and lunch at Sanna on another day, so we can enjoy the AKL and its animals. (Pixie dust!!!) can't wait to dine at both Boma and Sanna and look forward to the experience and yummy food!

Boma was amazing. We loved it. The food was good and it was unique. My 4 YO hated it though. There was almost nothing he was willing to eat.

I think you should try it. The AKL is beautiful and unfortunately it was pouring rain when we went a few years ago and were bummed that we missed going out to see the animals. That being said, we didn't care for the food. It's not our taste at all. I'm sure that it is really good for the kind of food that it is. We all agreed that we were glad we tried it but that we didn't care to go back. Even my DH who is as adventurous as they come and generally tries to order the oddest thing he can find, didn't care for it. There are lots of people who love it, so that's why I say you should go, you won't know unless you try it for yourselves.

I am not a buffet fan at all, so for me to say a buffet is good is a minor miracle. With that said, Boma is pretty good. I would not call it great food, after all it is still mass produced quantities of food prepared and placed on serving stations, but it is good. There are some unique offerings that go beyond your typical mosh posh of buffet staples. As for picky eaters, there are still some decent tried and true offerings. So to sum it up... Yes, it is worth it.

We love it and would definitely recommend going. I consider my husband and myself a little picky and my son is a picky eater. All of us love going there, and loved it so much the first time we went that we cancelled a BOG dinner to go there. Worse case scenario you could take a cab back to your resort for under 20 dollars instead of dealing with the bus.
