Boma???

And let me add the good wait staff. Usually for a buffet, the service is minimal then disappears. Not at Boma. My last visit, our waiter let us wine taste to decide which one we preferred. I found the staff had a good knowledge of the food and wine served. Boma offers the variety of a buffet with the attentive service of table dining.

I just returned a few weeks ago and can't wait to go back to eat at Boma. I truely wonderful dining experience. On the other hand, I was not that impressed with Jiko.

is just a fancy African word for a dish we in the south call GRITS! It is a ground cornmeal type cereal, and is good as a starch side for any meal.

We went to Boma for a DIS mini-meet in December. We had a group of 20 something in all age ranges and everyone left very full and very happy. Although many of the dishes had African names, most were actually very familiar tastes. Read the list of what is in something to help you decide what you would be interested in. They had a great sweet potato dish, very flavorful roasted meats, it was truly all good.

Boma's is one of our very favorites because it's very good quality, the staff are very happy to explain the food, and there's some very interesting foods to experience. It's definitely fun to eat there. There are things we don't care for, as a matter of personal taste --- for example, the zebra domes. The selection is amazing, which greatly increases the chance that you'll find many things to enjoy.

Food is set up at different 'stations'. Because there's so much to choose from, it might work better to try a little bit and keep going back -- otherwise your plate could get cold while you're waiting in lines. If I take a tiny spoon of everything, I don't feel bad about leaving something, if I don't like it.
Hope you enjoy it!

I want to check out AKL and it seems natural to have a meal at BOMA. But my family is not culinarily adventurous. Do you think the breakfast at BOMA is a better choice for us?

Sure -- I'd recommend anything that would get you to see AKL and into Boma's. The juice they offer you at the table is very good and totally unique. There's many traditional choices and some new things.

I just left Boma's about an hour ago. It was my first visit and it was everything that I had read about and more. Really enjoyed it.

It's great to be back, though it is raining off and on.
