Boma- Yes or No?

Boma is our favorite buffet in WDW, mostly because it is so different from any of the other ones. Love to eat foods that are different, with lots of variety. If you looking for the same old buffet, this isn't it (although it does have choices for the less adventurous out there). We can get enough of the yummy soups, salads, spiced foods, and FuFu (mmmmm)!

We'll be trying the breakfast buffet this time around as well, as many people have commented on how good that is too :cool1:

I am a Hard Core FOODIE and I LOVE Boma, but I have not been since they discontinued the prime rib late last year. Friends I met at WDW at that time said it was a pork substitute, but I've also heard it is sirloin.

Hubby who is very meat and potatoes went with me last year and did not like it AT ALL. He ate 2 slices of meat, 3 pieces of flat bread and 5 cookies. That was it. Not much vlaue for the money there.....He's not into junk food, so the pizza, nuggets, etc. didn't have any appeal.

My daughter, her boyfriend and I are all very adventurous eaters but we found this buffet lousy. You either love it or hate it I suppose. I have heard wonderful things about the breakfast and would be willing to give it a try. Now Jiko on the other hand was wonderful.

My husband and I went for dinner and both enjoyed it. He is a picky eater and was able to find plenty of things to eat. What I enjoyed most were the soups along with the hummus. I also have heard good things about breakfast, so we have an ADR to try it on our next trip.

DW and I went there as part of our anniversary trip earlier this year. We had a fairly late reservation, so it was fairly quiet. We're both fairly adventurous eaters (me moreso than her), and while I would have gladly had more exotic fare, it was pretty good.

ShannonMB - thanks for the pics. (Now I'm hungry again. I wonder if I could get zebra domes delivered in bulk?) I'm pushing for everyone to stay at AKL for our October trip, and I'm going to made ADRs for Bomas - for our family, if not for everyone.

Whoever posted about it being loud, I want to second that emotion.

Actually LOUD doesn't even begin to describe it the night we were there. It was the noisiest place we experienced in all of Disney World, including parks. It was noisier than people screaming on the Dinosaur ride. It was freakishly loud.

I did eat my weight in some sort of sweet cornbread, and the zebra domes were tasty. I ordered some sort of drink (pirate's something or other, I think it was supposed to have 7 different kinds of rum?) Now admittedly I am not much of a drinker, but I drank about an inch of that and knew if I continued I wouldn't be able to weave out of the restaurant. (I'm such a lightweight, lol!)

Jiko was SO much quieter, hard to believe they are in the same building. And, although you didn't ask.....Jiko food is two paws up, yum!
