Boma with kids?

We ate dinner at Boma recently and i wasn't really impressed...I heard such good things about it on here but nothing on the buffet appealed to me at all and I wouldn't consider myself a picky eater either...

that is why I originally booked it, so many people raved about it. Then when I started looking at the menus and stuff I became unsure.

Same here. I have an ADR for dinner at Boma but I'm thinking about switching it to the breakfast buffet. I'm a bit iffy after looking at the dinner menu. Really want to go see AKL though and see the animals.

I vote for Sanaa!

We went to both Boma and Sanaa. My kids liked both (they are not picky at all) but loved Sanaa. You have to go when it is still light outside though so you can see the animals and ask for a window seat. It was a huge highlight of our trip. The kids also got a dessert called "Cookies and Milk" which was really fun and impressive. They got to decorate their own cookie with icing and m&ms and mickey sprinkles. Then had a strawberry lassi ("milk" shake) with it that they could drink though a chocolate straw. I was impressed and definitely so were they! Us adults really enjoyed it as well. The food was great. We had a window seat and were able to watch giraffe eat dinner while we ate ours as well as a zebra and an African crane. Very, very fun and an experience you can't have just anywhere! We also added a trip to the viewing/observation deck afterwards and a Hidden Mickey Hunt that we were able to get at the front desk. Fun, fun night! We ate there on our last night and it was a great way to end.

My family is pretty picky and we loved Boma for dinner, considering doing it again next trip. They have some unique foods but also some basics. I tried a bunch of new stuff and ended up really liking it.

boma is our first choice of a non-character meal for children. :goodvibes they all love the food, resort and the animals.

Boma is one of the few restaurants, and the only buffet, we go to almost every trip. We've have several adventurous eaters in our party, but we always seem to have a couple of really picky eaters who won't try anything new. Our DD will try anything, our DS wants familiar foods. Both eat well at Boma.

If you go, plan on spending time looking at animals and exploring some of the things the resort has to offer. The cast members there are very knowledgeable and interesting, and we love to visit with them. The stories around the firepit are very engaging. The resort itself is beautiful.

You will almost certainly enjoy it!

DS11 swears Boma has the best mac and cheese ever. We've eaten there for both breakfast and dinner and loved both. DD9 is pretty picky, but she can manage to find something. I'm still craving the French Toast Bread Pudding we had last year at breakfast... yum!! And the carrot ginger soup at dinner.
