My husband and I went to Disney on our honeymoon in early September of 2007. First let me say that I HIGHLY recommend Boma. Then again, thanks to eating there I now consider African my favorite kind of food lol.

Anyhow so when we went there they served a rice. It looked basically like brown rice with golden raisins in it but the spice combination was nice also. I can't for the life of me figure out what it was called! I love it so much I want to try to make something like it at home but I'd at least like some idea of what it's called!

Anyone know?
TIA

was it the rice in peanut sauce? all the food at boma is great! think that's the only reason my husband wants to go to WDW!!

LOL I have no idea if it was in peanut sauce. I just know that it had golden raisins in it :upsidedow

Boma ROCKS!:cool1:

Sorry I don't have the info on the rice...i will look around and see if I can find anything. Was it definitely rice? I know they have a lot of interesting grains (bulgar, quinoa, etc.) I am just asking to help in my search.

It sounds just like the saffron rice. It is cinammon infused which gives it that special flavor and has raisins in it. I can taste it right now. Sorry, I don't have the recipe but if you find it let me know.:goodvibes

Yes that sounds like the right name for it lol. I'll see what i can find OR what I can figure out myself to make something like it :)

I have a recipe from Boma for Peanut Butter Rice, but it does not have raisins in it.

e-mail WDW and ask for it! :) I just went to disney.com, contact us page, and sent a general e-mail. It gets routed to the correct place, and although they may not get back to you in a timely manner, you will eventually get someone who will tell you if they are able to give you the recipe...I say it never hurts to ask! The worst they can tell you is no...

good luck!

You're referring to the Geelrys. You can find a ton of recipes online for it - basically, its a curried basmati rice with cinnamon and raisins. We had this our first time at Boma and it was fanstastic!
