Ooooooooooooohhhhhhh that meal was nasty-by-gasty!!! :crazy2: With the exception of the acorn squash soup. The meat was gross, the sides were gross, it was so expensive and I could hardly stand to eat it!

Here is why I think it was gross. I think it was just too exotic for me. There was just something added to everything (even the prime rib) that gave it a flavor that I did NOT like.

Also, didn't like the atmosphere. Felt like Luby's. Tables too close together, dirty carpet, bright glaring lights.

I did, however, scrape the bottom of the bowl of soup it was soooo good, but not worth $100!

:duck: :firefight :bitelip: :tiptoe:

I'm sorry, I wanted to like it so bad but I hated it! :sad2: I felt like the scum of the earth for thinking it was gross - I know it is so hugely popular especially on the DIS and gets good reviews all the time!! :guilty:

Alas, I cannot tell a lie  - it was gross...

It's not for everyone and I'm glad that you said your opinion. I love the DIS but a lot of times it seems that if you say that you don't like something you get attacked.

I'm an adventurous person, but I haven't eaten at Boma because it is expensive and I too am afraid that I wasted a lot of money if I don't like it.

I love Chef Mickey's for breakfast but you couldn't pay me enough to eat dinner there again. I thought it was horrible and spending $80 for 3 people was horrible.

I ate at Boma in Feb and also didn't care for the food due to the spices not being to my liking !! There were many things I did like, the Hummus ,the potatoes , the seafood chowder and of course the Zebra domes . I found the service and the decor to be awesome . I am going to go for breakfast next time !!

I love Boma!! I GUESS I understand people that don't like all types of food!!

But I must admit, I think zebra domes are the grossest dessert I have ever eaten!!

That line cracked me up:rotfl: . You tell it like it is, I like that:thumbsup2 . hey gross is gross, right?
But I have to tell you, Boma's breakfast was just great. Loved it. In fact, we went back twice. Loved the carved ham:worship: . But I agree, the dinner just isn't for us, we went for the Jiko tour and they brought us thru it, and nothing turned me on (except for the yummy kids mac and cheese, now who doesn't love that). Thanks for the laugh tonight.:)

Thanks for the warning!

I do not like spices. I'm glad you posted this as I was thinking of trying it next time.

Sounds like the breakfast might be better for me.

Well, I think it's fine you shared your true opinion with us. That's what makes this board great is that we all share opinions. Boma's menu doesn't appeal to me and that is why we will probably never eat there. You gave it a shot and that is all you can do!

Ironically Boma's is the only buffet I do like.

I can understand the table thing. They do make me claustrophobic, but I have anxiety issues with crowds in general (yet I do go to Disney; go figure). I never noticed dirty carpets. It must have been a bad night.

Boma is my favorite Disney restaurant, but I don't expect everyone to like the same things as I do. We really disliked Mama Melrose's & 50s Prime Time Diner after hearing great things about both of them. To each their own.

Boma is my favorite buffet at WDW. I love it for the same reason's that you don't. I love all the different spices and the way they prepare there food. I agree that Boma is not for everyone.

This is one diner's opinion, by all means if you like this restaurant, feel free to say so, but.....

Do not criticize the OP for posting her opinion. This board is based on opinions......it is about Disney restaurants and whether you like them or not. The OP was stating her opinion.....and unless there is something else going on, feel free to state yours, but do not criticize them for having an opinion contrary to yours..

Thanks.

I'm just thinking the word "gross" didn't exactly match what the OP found wrong with the restaurant.
But Boma isn't for everyone.

I love BOMA but you do need to have what I will call a somewhat adventurous palate and enjoy spices and flavors that are not common in the typical American diet. If you don't like sweet-ish flavors in your savories and meats, be wary (cinnamon, allspice, cloves, cumin, etc.) I love ethnic foods of all kinds and I cook that way at home so I love BOMA and Jiko because they are what they are...interesting and atypical.

Zebra Domes just don't send me, however. :duck: ANd ita on the tables - the place is waaaaay too crowded!

YMMV - Jackie

I second that they were gross to me:scared1:

I am actually a very adventurous eater and don't like Boma. Jiko on the other hand is my favorite restaurant at WDW....go figure!:confused3

The wonderful thing about WDW is the variety of foods they offer. Something for everyone. I was very excited to try Boma based on the reviews of my fellow Disers, but alas, it was not to my liking either. I was told by a family member Boma had the best prime rib ever. I am a huge prime rib lover, but I didn't like the seasoning used. My favorite was their salads, and I am also one who couldn't wait to taste a zebra dome, and then sat there puzzled because one bite was all I could handle. It didn't live up to the hype. So I guess the older I get the less adventurous  I will always try something the first time, anyway. Boma isn't my cup of tea. I consider the experience one I'm glad I had, after all, I was at WDW :woohoo: and there are still so many more WDW eateries yet to visit. For those that love Boma, it is a part of their WDW experience. For us that don't, it's one less restaurant in our list of things to try. Hope it didn't make your trip less than magical :wizard:
