We have dinner reservations at Boma on our arrival day - ( Sat 04/02). I am considering sending the kids to Simba's Clubhouse and making the Boma meal adults only.

Our kids are 4 and 7. The 7 yr old has an average appetite, but is quite picky - probably will only eat chicken fingers and mac-n-cheese from what I see off Boma's typical menu. Our daughter is much more adventerous - she will try new foods. Her problem is (I wish I had this problem), that she has a very small appetite - she is small for her age only 41" tall and 37 lbs. Her complete meal generally consists of 8 - 10 small bites of food. She usually just eats food off her mother's or brother's plate, we are lucky if she will eat half of a kids meal in one sitting.

So anyway, should we all eat at Boma since it is our first night, and Boma would be slightly less expensive? Or should we assume the kids will have much more fun at Simba's Clubhouse and send them there for a couple hours? What do you think?

We ate at Boma and let the kids go to Simba's. We were all very happy! They loved the Cubhouse and Boma was fantastic.

Last August we let DS, 8, go to Simba's while we ate- he had a great time. It was our first night in WDW- we made ressies for Boma again for 4/2 and DS, now 9, said he wanted to go back to Simba's- so that's what we're doing again. As far as picky eaters, they offer chicken tenders, spaghetti, and other "kid" type of choices. He was there for 1.5 hours, just long enough for us to eat- we felt bad leaving him, as this is a 'family' vacation, but he had a blast. There were 3 other kids there with him.

A question for you veterans - We made ressies for our kids to go to Simba's. They say they eat between 6:00 and 8:00. Does that mean they begin serving at 6:00 and they can eat when they are ready or does that mean supper could be served anytime between 6 and 8? I doubt my kids will be able to wait much past 6:00 to eat. They will be starving!

We dropped off DS at 5 and picked up at 6:30- he had already eaten. They asked DH what he wanted to eat when he dropped DS off- :moped:

I think they serve dinner to the kids several times during the two hour time span.

DH and I also put DD in Simba's when we ate at Boma and we are glad we did. It is a win win situation. DD was so happy (she is an only child and loves playing with other kids) and DH and I had a great, relaxing meal!

Enjoy...Boma is my favorite restaurant!

Another vote for Simba's. We did that exact thing, last trip, and ALL of us had a good night. DH, and I loved Boma, but there was no way the kids would have gotten thier $$ worth.

2 hours at Simba's was enough time, for us to eat, walk around a bit, and shop in the gift shop.

Have a great trip.

How old do you have to be to go to Simba's?
