These restaurants aren't even in the same category. Boma is a buffet with o.k. food, but nothing to write home about. Narcoossee's is a WONDERFUL sit-down restaurant with AWESOME food. No contest, Narcoossee's.

We've had dinners at both places. Narcoose's is a nice, although noisy, standard table-service restaurant serving familiar fare. Boma is a buffet restuarant serving somewhat more exotic dishes. We prefer Boma for the wide selection of excellent food that we don't normally get to enjoy.

A clear example of "different strokes for different folks". We've enjoyed both, sometimes during the same trip. However, if I had to choose just one, it would certainly be Narcoossee's.

My experiences with both:

Narcoosee's had fine food.
Boma had lots of different types of food (appetizers, soups, entrees, desserts) to sample. Loved it.

I expected Narcoosee's to have a fine dining atmosphere. It was loud, with kids screaming (not due to mischief, just from being tired after a long day at MK I suspect). This is fine at Chef Mickey's. Not here.
I expected Boma to be loud, with kids running around. What I got was the fine dining experience I expected at Narcoosee's.

Our experience at Narcoosee's cost over 50% more than what Boma cost.

I won't ever eat at Narcoosee's again. Not that it was bad, but why pay that much for nothing special? Better opportunities elsewhere, IMHO.

We can't wait to get back to Boma. In fact, we'll probably stay at AKL next time to get there more than once.

BOMA, HANDS DOWN! It's amazing! The foods, the smells, the atmosphere.....it's an experience in itself! :)

Narcoosees.

I think my expectations for Boma were too high given the raves it gets here. It was ok, but not fantastic. The prime rib was lousy and the flank steak tough - but that isn't what you go to Boma for. Some of the items on the buffet were fantastic, others mediocre - but with 80 items - it was hit and miss. I didn't think Zebra Domes deserved their reputation (they were good, don't get me wrong) - in my mind, none of the desserts were great - and that is what people rave about. The restaurant was too big, it was difficult to get to the buffet - and I'm not a buffet person. Now it was worth the effort to go see the AKL, hadn't been there before and the resort itself was great (its also one of the reasons we like Narcoosees - we like to visit the GF even if we aren't staying there). Now before you say, well, you aren't adventurous - we are adventurous eaters - I just prefer my couscous to have more flavor, my steak to be tender and my prime rib to taste like something. My salmon to be cooked to order instead of served to me under lamps. We eat Thai, Korean, Sushi, Indian, Greek, Lebanese and Ethopian at home.

Narcoosees is twice as expensive, though. But the food is at least twice as good. I though the key lime creme brulee (their signature dessert) was too sweet, but my steak and potatoes were very good and the squash and crab soup was the best thing I tasted at Disney. Service is wonderful. I love the location - I like the noise and casualness of it - I know that if I bring my kids here without their "inside voices" it won't be noticed (Boma isn't any better BTW, my daughter had her only full scale meltdown at Boma and the people a table away noticed, but not the people two tables away), and yet I can leave feeling I got a first class meal. And I love the view. Dining overlooking the castle - California Grill gets the raves, but Narcoosees has a darn good view.

So, not a buffet person, not price concious, better food at Narcoosee's means Narcoosees. But I can see where people would balk at the Narcoosees bill - or at the noise, considering you do pay "fine dining" prices.

Now the best meal we had was at Le Cellier - I'd heard raves about it here - so my expectations were pretty high - and the restaurant blew them away. Better food than Narcoosees, a bill that was $100 less.

(Four adults in our party - two votes for Narcoosees as the best meal we had, two for Le Cellier, none for Boma, Spoodles, Teppanyaki (although it was a lot of fun), Beirgarten (which was better than I expected - my expectations for this one were very low) or Marrakesh (the winner last time). Both kids (4&5) vote for the chocolate moose in Canada - with Teppanyaki getting an honorable mention. Spoodles had the best rum drink).

I really like Bomas. Zebra domes rule.

This is tough as they are not the same type of restaurant. Boma is AWESOME - and is a tradition with us every trip - but it is a buffet and we go for the different kinds of food offered - and for the experience of being at AKL.
Narcoosses is sit down with seafood (wonderful mussels) and beef (great filet)! The experience was enhanced by being at the Grand Floridian and watching the Electric Show and Magic Kingdom change colors during dinner.
Narcoosses was also much more expensive ... We went to both on our last vacation and both were great memories, for different reasons.
We plan on going to both again!

I have only tried Boma's. I enjoyed it but the night that we were there the line for the buffet was outrageous. I liked the food but my husband did not. The line for the buffet was really too much. I think it would be much better to order the food and have it brought to the table like at Narcoosee's.
