Hello everyone! I am putting the finishing touches on my December ADRs. I hvae one questions: I will be at Animal Kingdom during the day, and will be seeing the 3:45pm Jingle Jungle Parade. If I leave right after the parade and go straight to Animal Kingdom Lodge for an ADR at Boma, what is the earliest ADR I should make? Is there any "dead time" where Boma stops serving lunch/hasn't started serving dinner yet? I am hoping to eat at Boma, rather quickly, and then go to MK for Spectromagic at 7pm (we don't need GREAT seats, as long as we can stand and see the whole show we will be fine). Is this possible?? Any input would be super great, thanks!

I would say to make the earliest reservation you get. I went there when i went to Animal Kingdom, and it was crazy! Babies crying, annoyed people, sojme waiting 2 hours to get a seat! I don't happen to know of a dead time like that, so this is all that i can tell you. Good luck and have fun :teeth: Boma is delish!

:tink: We ate at Boma's in June at 5pm and had no problems with time. We left there for MK and even had time to shop in the AKL gift shop. We loved Bomas!

Boma doesn't serve lunch. I think they open for dinner at 5pm.

:goodvibes Boma doesn't serve lunch, according to allearsnet.com. The hours for dinner are 5 PM-10 PM.
If you leave immediately after the AK parade and drive yourself, you can probably make it to a 5 PM seating at Boma. If you rely on the buses you may not make it.
In my opinion Boma has the best buffet at WDW. Hope you enjoy it! :thumbsup2

OK, I made an ADR for 5pm, but do you all think we will be able to make it for Spectromagic by 7pm?? It is the ONLY night we will be able to see Spectro, so I want to make sure we will at least be there by 645pm so we can situate ourselves and stand to watch the show! Anybody know??

I think you should be able to make it as long as you leave AK by 6:15 or so. I believe our ride to MK was about 20 mins or so from AK Lodge. Since it's a buffet meal at Boma, you won't have to wait for the food to come out.

I think you will be cutting it really close and might not make it at all. Hopefully with the opening seating you will be seated right away, but you may not be able to count on it. I don't think it can be done with Disney transportation, but if you have a car you have to take into account parking, riding the tram or walking, bag check, ticket entry, and fighting through the limited space due to already-lined-up parade watchers. If you really, really want to see Spectro that day, I would do Boma on another day. Go from AK to MK, maybe eat some CS, and get a good spot for the parade about an hour prior.

I really think this is a plan with too much rushing.

Boma is the best buffet at WDW and not food you are going to find every day. We enjoy having some soup, salad, hummus, all the meats and veggies and finally the desserts! It's nice to linger ..take your time.

The problem with getting to MK is just what the above poster mentioned .. getting from the parking lot to Main Street. Would you consider going from the AK to MK and eating at CP? Or maybe take the monorail to the Polynesian and eat at Kona?

I would not skip Boma .. it's too good .. just rearrange things a bit. :)

Boma does not serve lunch. When we were staying at AKL, I believe they started serving dinner at 4:30pm. We were thrilled, because we were hungry and couldn't believe they started this early.

In all honesty, I don't mind rushing (we are two 24 y.olds with no kids)...but I definitely would have a problem if we missed Spectro! I REALLY wanted to give Boma a try but it is the ONLY day we can do it. We already have other TS' planned for other days (CP package, we will be at MGM another day so we are eating sci fi, Lib TT for MVMCP, romantic Cali Grille dinner, and then CRT...cause I really love eating in the castle). If you all think I will really not make it using Disney Transportation than I will skip it. I was budgeting 1 hour for dinner, leave AKL by 615pm, and make it to MK by 645...then running in for Spectro and standing to watch. I suppose that leaves little time for any "problems" but I was being optimistic and just hoped we could try to do it all! Anyhow, I am hoping a few more people will respond with their experiences, but I am guessing I will have to cancel :guilty: . Thanks for all the help!

Can you get an earlier ADR? When we went in May, Boma opened at 4:30. Even if not, I think you could make it to MK by 7:00, especially if you used a cab to get to the TTC.

I am going to call in a bit to see if they have a 430pm as the above poster suggested. If so, I would think I should be fine even using Disney transportation. I eat pretty fast anyway, so as long as I leave by 545pm, I should be fine to get a standing spot for Spectromagic, don't you think?? I don't want to shoot myself in the foot here and miss the only night Spectromagic is showing, but I also really want to try Boma...what does everyone think?

Unfortunately Boma begins serving at 5:00pm, so a 4:30pm isn't possible unless they are opening early for some strange reason.
